Yes RSS is very right, they are doing this.........few months back i met a christian in hong kong, he wanted to convert me........i taught his a big lesson, since then i never saw him around.
but instead of saying it, we need to go into the deep cause of the problem, by solving the problem, only we can control it and .....
we can also start converting other religion into Hindus........if any support is need, i'll be happy to offer anything I can do...
regards

Letter from United Way is not a cooked up story. I can get you a scanned copy of the letter thanking my friend, if anyone is interested.

Should not worry about Christians
by ez on Aug 23, 2006 08:36 PM  Permalink

It is not easy to answer some of these strange comments. Most seem to be uninformed or neglectful of the US.
The United Way is a private organization which doesn't work with the government. There are organizations in the US calling it un-Christian. It's one thing to read an article and take it's word...another to make up a story of receiving a letter stating you're helping a conversion...but quite something else to take a humanitarian organization and make up items about it when many Christians are opposed. Hey, why not go to their website and do a search on the word 'christian' like I just did to learn more before buying fake stories? It states they work with everyone, including christians, to help with humanitarian aid. Hey, if there were a problem near Detroit, would you call the United Way a muslim organization if they helped the Muslim community there?
Skin color is an integral part of Christianity in the west? This is just a dumb comment from someone who doesn't research either. Commenting on this would be futile. I will guarantee you there are a higher population of blacks who are christians than whites. Bet you don't believe but travel to the southern US. Most Americans are not that religious.
Slavery, holocaust, colonialism, racism are a few? Uh huh. It is the US fault Britain started slavery? Wasn't it an anti-jew loving communist nazi who managed the holocaust? I assume you understand communists don't have a fondness for religion of any kind. They love state religion though. Racism? As if I don't get ogled when in India? Racism is everywhere. Do you think every white person is in India to convert people?
You all really ought to be worried about Muslims and Communists trying to encircle India. All you need are Maoists to join the Communists in West Bengal and things start to get very interesting.
India needs to control it's borders or else Kolkata might just turn into part-maoist and part muslim terrorist. Try and imagine that and stop worrying about Christians. Look at the churches in Kerala closing down.
As you realize, I'm an American but you might not be able to fathom I'm married to a Bengali from Kolkata. She has not been converted either. I've been to India numerous times and could comment open-endedly about the problems there.
And finally, if you want to fight against Christianity, have 10 kids and stay a Hindu.
If you do not want to turn into a muslim country, good luck. And you're worried about Christians?

Is US behind conversions?
by labrea on Aug 23, 2006 08:24 PM  Permalink

If those morons are so bent out of shape about 'conversions', then maybe they should do some serious introspection reagarding their own shortcomings - they could even start their own versions of 'madrassas' to bolster Hindu religious culture - like "fighting fire with fire"? It would also be beneficial if Hindu leaders, at every possible ocassion, were to speak out vehemently and forcefully against the despicable evils of caste, especially against the horrible age-old discrimination against the 'outcatses'. What's most urgently needed is reforming the system to rely less on "Pujaris" (priests) and more on "Pundits" (gurus, teachers, shepherds of their flock) to build an all-inclusive egalitarian, just and prosperous society. Until then, words alone would be like pouring water on a duck's back - runs right off. As they say, "action speaks louder than words".

Is US behind conversions in India?
by gurnath on Aug 23, 2006 01:11 PM  Permalink

Prez.Bush is a devote cristian.Good for him.He seem to be stuck in the "good old days" of Crusade!!May be he wants to leave a legacy to this effect. There are others in this endevor in the USA.General public in the USA am sure are not with him and the others on this.Infact, I was offered and persued for about 18 months to take up "work" in India as I would understand the Indians better!!!! By the way, they have a plan for Pakistan too, similar to one in India. Some of the the preachers working in India, really believe that they have more to take from India then give a cross.Watchout, truth wins, ie India wins in this proxy battle waged by few backed by USA goverment,Again, once we have democrats, this issue will fizzle out as funds may dry out for them.As far as the media, forget it...if its someother country....it would have been a different story...and I strongly believe...In India, christians and others may live as a miniscule minority following the majority traditions and not otherwisw. As far as muslims...deserts of Arabia are waiting for them...

by lalitkumar on Aug 23, 2006 10:01 AM  Permalink

my respected RSS---you have been crying only nd only in the interest of BHARAT but who has listened u? none--because Nehrus,Gandhis,Manmohans even being true HINDUS but they destroyed our BHARAT with double face.all Hindu leaders even Vajpayee are pro China,Pakistan,Islamic/Christian conversions otherwise they would not get votes.Mulayam has been responsible for max. killings of Muslims but he is worshipped by them whereas u protect Hindus but are abused by them.here lies the exact point-- a danger to our BHARAT

by kuldeep on Aug 23, 2006 08:52 AM  Permalink

What does Rediff think? Is RSS the only activist journalism? If India was USA, and unfortunately/fortunately it is not, we would know about NGOs terrorism long ago... India has a long way to go!

Reality Pill
by kanna on Aug 23, 2006 06:18 AM  Permalink

A lot of intellectual media folks believe if all Indian become Christians than the caste and religious tensions would go away, for those dreamers here's the reality pill.
1. Christians have as much blood and evil as any other major religions. Slavery, holocaust, colonialism, racism are a few.
2. Christians in Africa still follow feudal systems.
3. Skin color is an integral part of Christianity in the west.
4. Christians in India follow caste systems as much as Hindus do.
When Indians convert to Christianity it would be the rebirth of caste system in India. Dalit Christians would be denied entry to Brahmin churches by simply saying you are not a registered member of the church or we're sorry you live outside this churchs boundary.
We have fought so much for Hinduism by fighting against shivaite/ashivaite, caste inequality and so on and created a society where everyone has an opportunity to become a doctor or scientist or president or chief minister or spiritual leader by their dedication and hard work.
Don't you think we are wasting all our efforts by surrendering our souls to western spiritual experiment?
