After lots of years I found really good thought from an expert Mr.Bennett. And atleast somebody really understood the pain or israel and india towards terrorism. Dont you think its now time to build a troop of trained elite soldiers across the globe and vanish this terrorism from the world?
Rather late in the day but nevertheless reaisation has come that Pakistan has had a singular role in creating a war ike situation in Jammu and kashmir. Before I go any further, let me make it cear that when we make reference to kashmir are we excluding half the state both in terms of the geography and popuation? All along, while discussing the contentious issues in the context of J & K state, we have relegated Jammu and Ladakh regions into non-entities. This suggests that we are discussing just kashmir where majority of population is muslim and who are trying to decide the future of rest of the region and population on the basis of Islam. If it was not so, Pakistan would not have created an unabashed cacaphony of jehad to rally muslims of all hue and color to infiltrate in Kashmir. It is rather intriguing how history is being subverted in the name of islam. Kashmir, the word comes from Rishi kashyap, has been a place where early traces of Paleolithic man have been found and from days of Rajtrangini to the History of kashmir there is an undeniable pressence of Hinduism in kashmir which is being wiped out by Muslims. These designs of Pakistan in Kashmir to destroy all vestiges of an ancient past which was based on Hinduism is only an initial step which is followed by giving a political orientation to the divide between hindus and muslims. International opinion has vacillated between showing sympathy to the zehadis (sic) or treating India's concern with ittle sympathy. It is conspiracy against indegeneous people of kashmir who are paharais, gujjars and ladakhis. they identify themselves on the bais of a shared culture, language and where relegion is inconsequential.
Bennet may be right but I think India lacks the political will and guts like Israel to launch a full scale attack into POK. India over the years even according to Indians seems like a soft state, having to look over its shoulder every time we are attacked by Pak. We make comments of not letting the acts disolve the peace inititive. Pak laughs all the way to the bank. When you have govts like we have then why does one need enemies. We continue to be minority appeasement suckers and are defensive about protecting our own borders.

The article by Mr Bennet has only confirmed the fact of Pakistani involvement to British writers. This is common knowledge in the Indian subcontinent. The way in which the issue will be tackled will of course differ ,although, the problem shares a common perception. India is not a superpower it aspires to become an economic powerhouse in the future. It is a pluralistic, multicultural, multireligious and multiethnic state. India pursues a peaceful policy with independence of action. It does not find many friends as a result. India has a million fissures and a wounded civilisation.A "few thousand cuts" would not make any difference or so our well wishers would have us believe. The conditions in India are chaotic at best and our leaders do not find the time. They have to worry about their own survival. We have an ocean like population with gigantic problems all seeking vast resources. Our poverty is deep even the basic needs are beyond our means, the last thing that we need is a war to heap more misery. Pakistan has been merciful to only confine their acivities to creating chaos and terror. They are chasing a mirage. Nothing can destroy India because it is an eternal idea.
Nothing new in this article. We have no genuine political will to solve Kashmir issue. Just apply the same strategy as applied to solve Terrorisim in Punjab. Since We are suffering, then we have to take steps to finish it from the root. Why we need the favour or recommendation of US or world communities?
This is an incisive analysis of Pakistan's hand in muddying Kashmir's waters. Since the issue at hand is really nothing to do with jihad or religion, it is to do with water, without the supply from kashmir's fresh water rivers the whole of Pakisatn will be turned into desert. Therefore it is unlikely that Pakistan will give up its terror strategy anytime soon. While this may or may not be known to the larger populace, it is undeniable that the west knows what the author has mentioned in this piece. The idea behind their (US) strategic silence, with intermittent slaps on the wrist is simple- they want to contain India, just as India contains China. If the US calls Pakistan for what it is, it loses its own strategic theatre in Central Asia and a counter to Chinese influence. Pakistan will happily play the Chinese card when the going gets too hot, not how easily Pakistan is moving in for a similar nuke deal with China, while India still grapples with ist much publicised one with the US. Hypocrisy as they say is the middle name of international geopolitics. It was quite easy for the righteous tony blair to fish out a dossier on Iraq's WMD from a phd thesis. Sridhar
