Seawater turn Sweet ?
by Babush on Aug 20, 2006 11:11 PM  Permalink

We can assume this occurrence on following reason:
1) Due to heavy down puor of mansoon during this year.
2) There will be any eruption beneath the sea bed.
3) Any contaminated industrial effluent dumped in large quantity.
4) The effect of the Mars Planet which is coming closer to earth on 27 Aug 2006.

May be above could be the reason. Beleiving in miracles is useless unless finding out by the sceintific solution.

it's proves how illiterate we still are
by Ravi Kolli on Aug 20, 2006 09:55 PM  Permalink

...until there are morans and mad believers, it is not impossible to make anything / anyone with this sort of events characterized as a miracle, or a ba ba. There is a reason for everything to happen, only time will tell the truth. There needs to be an investigation and eveyrything might not have a resolution. I see an amount of marketing when these type of unusual things happen, people should be aware and careful.

People should not jump into conclusions like Pakistan government who is like a thief after the bobay attacks, "I have not done it", "I have not done it", without even the investigation began.

cause for sea water turning sweet
by sumithra shenoy on Aug 20, 2006 09:52 PM  Permalink

The sea water might've turned sweet due to mixing up of large amount of chemicals in the sea water and also due to the garbage, factory wastes that mix up with sea water.I dont think it's some sort of miracle or God's holy water.I had seen a mother making her infant to drink that water just bcause she thought it was a holy water.I'd like the govt. must be a bit more serious about this particular matter as it may harmthe healthof future generation.

Seawater turned into Cola!
by Cogito_erg0... on Aug 20, 2006 09:28 PM  Permalink

It was no miracle. After the recent CSE findings that Coke and Pepsi is full of pesticides, the people living near the Mahim creek were in a quandary how to use the huge stocks of Coke and Pepsi they had kept in their houses. Then someone reminded of what "swami" Ram Dev said: that Coke and Pepsi are actually toilet cleaners. Everyone decided to use their stock of the colas for cleaning their toilets. As a result, there was a flash flood of cola drinks in the sewage, and it all ended up in the Mahim creek.

sweet water??!!
by Hari on Aug 20, 2006 08:03 PM  Permalink

There must be some simple scientific explanation for this..could be because of river water mixing with the sea water at Mahim and turning it less salty..what's amazing is the ignorance of the inhabitants of a metropolis like Mumbai, that too in the 21st century!! Surprising that people are gullible enough to believe in 'miracles' in the 21st century!! No wonder the world thinks we're a nation of fakirs and snake-charmers!

Sweetening agent
by Ponnaiyan.G on Aug 20, 2006 04:24 PM  Permalink

I think, It was indeed another rumour (like lord ganesh idols)dat spread across Mumbai.

I think it is because of the copius amount of fresh water (rain water) that has been added into the sea, which made the sea water taste SWEETER.

The rumour could also be purposely made by some terrorist group (taking advantage of the natural phenomenon) to make people throng a particular area to make it as a target location to carry out their exercise. Luckily nothing happened, my view is that its always better to tighten the security to places where more people gathers together, regardless of the cause for such a gathering.
