Well said, Now, will the Prime Minister take the first step and abolish all the quota systems which inculcates the feeling of casteism among differnt groups?
Ask Mr. P Chidambaram, the Finance Leech of India, he'll devise new techniques to eke out money from the working class, the only ones who pay tax fully and dont even get their returns back on time.
Yes sir, Let's build a new India. You want money, Ask PC, he will come up with another CESS on the already huge taxes we pay (relatively huge).
On this day full of optimism, PM has again delivered something he will never deliver. A India full of Indianness, without any differentiation on the basis of caste or religion can only be achieved if the government and parliament adopts steps in bridging this gap instead of increasing this divide in the name of social equality by increasing reservations. Historically reservation has not helped solved India misery, and it will not be helpful as long as it is based on caste. Poverty does not know any caste or religon, similarly the cure for poverty also has to be free of any bondings of caste or religon. Mr. PM please sell dreams which can be fulfilled. Few years ago, corruption was a big electoral issue, but these days it is not at all an electoral issue which does not mean that corruption has decreased in the country, but it has gone up to the level that no party has guts to take it head on. The people of this country are very emotional and they have paid heavy price for that for centuries. Speeches without any implementation are continuation of this exploitation. I sincerely wish that PM takes enough measures, without making only a show of it, to achieve what he has said today.
This guy M Singh is a nut. On one side he tells that India is this that, , not divided by religion and language, not divided by disparities...he and his stupid governence has ensured that country divides by religion/caste and there exist disparity everywhere! Are u not ashamed of yrself Mr Singh!
Poverty is at its best in most of India, and most villages doesnt even have the basic minimal infrastructure, and these buggars sitting in Delhi in A/c rooms at the cost of the Tax paid by us and gvng these statements...Do u think we need to belive all this, and whether we believe it or not, all these drama/natak will go on and on...as long as the youth, irrespective of cast and religion wakes up and help this country.
We curse you from the bottom of the heart, Mr Singh!
More carefully chosen words that sound good but serve no purpose, whatsoever. That has been the legacy of Indian politics.
I think the leaders should provide specific agenda that would give Indians real reasons to be proud:
1) How do we improve the standard of living of the average Indian family?
2) What infrastructure shold a society have to be proud of itself e.g running water, better sewage systems, electricity, access to comfortable transport system (if you work in Mumbai you know what I am talking about)?
3) What about the growing population that just consumes any tangible progress that we make?
4) What about strengthening the Indian currency so that Indians have more purchasing power to buy a good means of living. People work 70 hours a week and are no where near making a decent living?
5)What about national defense and the nations ability to enforce the right to live in safe environment?
I can write an entire book on this but I believe the message is clear. What are we really proud about? Sure the rich and upper middle class have reason to feel content but that's not the whole of India or is it?
I hear your speech, heard that it was your 'original' text, it was straight from your heart. Though I seldom, if ever, believe a politician, I take this one because I know you are an intellect and not a politician.
But, do you think that you are doing what you preach? You say war against poverty and war against terrorism. Are we fighting them at all? And what do you expect the people of India to do? When Mulayam calls SIMI a non-anti-national org, you sit quiet. When DMK releases chargesheeted terrorist, you sit quiet. When Pakistan blows up trains in Mumbai, you say you still want to talk. With this weakness, which country can fight terrorism? and what do you expect a common man to do? Are you making India strong enough
Now war on poverty - look at the number of farmer suicides. How are you going to solve them? With the 3rd grade Indira and Nehru etc etc yojajans? When you know better than most of us, that a major chunk of this assistance goes into your elephant like beaureucracy's pockets? Whom are you trying to fool? Anwyay, Happy Independence Day !
I am a citizen on India for the last 34 years. I watch the National Geographic Channel (Mega Structures) series. In what I have seen in the progess of other nations, where they have reached. for example Hongkong's New International Terminal being being built in a span of 6 years. And Dubai's Palm Island over a period of 7 yrs. Where does one think India will ever achieve such development? Tenders are floated for newer airports but the project is never initiated. America has Hoover Dam, but they dont experience floods like what was experienced recently in Maharashtra. When will the Government use OUR money to build a modern India??? We want rivers with proper embankments. HI-speed trains. Better living comfort. When will this take place??? India has and will always be a secular democratic nation. It is within the masses in each and every Indian heart, but it is the politics that create a rift in the name of Religion, caste etc. Do away with the Quota system and be a free ONE Nation
