give us our freedom
by abhijit on Aug 16, 2006 03:16 PM  Permalink

This is a very happier moments for all of us, as we celebrated our 59th independence day, just a day before. But it's also very funny (indignity) that till we are not free to live, socially or politically. We don't have the right to walk freely in the street without any fear of terrorism.
Always we are afraid of any other terrorist attack like mumbai, and for the people of Assam or J&K everyday is a day of horror and specially 15th Aug bring some bloody experience for them.
Ministers and all big people(politician) who only has the power hoist our national flag, but do you not think that do they have any qualification to touch the flag. Most of them are fraud. Do they have any respect to their country or the people of India. This is not the only day to give respect to our national flag as everyone dressed in khadi or put the flag in car or building just to show the respect. It should be the day when we will take some action plan for the future and that will be completed before the next year's independence day.So, I beg to all politicians and people of india to think about this. This doesn't matter that how many flags you have hosted on that day, but it does matter that what you have

PM's indipendence day speech
by Elango on Aug 16, 2006 02:48 PM  Permalink

As I know last 20 years (I am 35 now) every year all the PMs speaking the same thing at the time of every independence day. The message given should not be read out to ordinary Indian citizens, it must be addressed to the Politicians, not to the public. Politicians have the power, they want to see money from Governments' spending for the country or state thro' welfare schemes, infrastructure projects or whatever name it. They control police, government staff and everything. They divide the people, attracting media's and public attention thro' useless and bloody issues.
Since independence country's growth was handicapped by our own country men (Politicians). Before Independence there was only one LOOTER (British), after Independence SOMANY LOOTERS digging the Public money. If this situation persists India can not achieve "Developed Nation" status even after 100 years from now.
As a Patriotic citizen I expect all political leaders (atleast now) should shed their selfishness and change their attitude.
Finally '>90% of our present polticians don't have knowledge, no vision about the present and future, so they are not eligible to lead our mother country in the right path'

New India???
by P. Bhatt on Aug 16, 2006 01:43 PM  Permalink

Nothing to be happy about Independence day. Feel shame of it. Bcoz country like India does not deserve to be independent. It was much better under the feet of British rule.

We cannot be new anymore
by Hemant R on Aug 16, 2006 12:13 PM  Permalink

It is ridiculous that PM is making such comments on the Independence day.He is talking of an India without caste and religion and it is his own government which is dividing the country on a caste and religion basis. The OBC reservations introduced recently speaks well of it.The PM cannot introduce a common civil code irrespective of religion then it is a shame on his side to comment on the same.He cannot introduce an anti terror law fearing a particular community will be in trouble .Then isnt it a shame to speak of secularism. When Hindus speak of hinduism it is treated a s fundamentalism but when anyone speaks about minorites openly naming a particular religion it is said to be secularism. So the definition of ffundamentalism is reddefined by his own government. His own people rushed to tamil Nadu to get Abdul Madani(ISS leader) released. How can we think of beeing safe with such great politicians around. He cannot be strong after a bomb blast How can we be strong with such a weak person leading the country?
I think the speak is more of hypocrisy rather than actual substance and matter.Enough of fooiling around. If they cannot do anything please dont bring in big big words.

by Vibhu on Aug 16, 2006 11:19 AM  Permalink

* An India that is united in thought, not divided by religion and language,

U ur self is dividing by religion by not having a uniform civil code.

* An India that is united in our Indianness, not divided by caste and region,

U urself is dividing by caste by having reservations..I never knew the caste of my frnd till the time I saw him gettting better college bcos of his caste.

* An India that is united in seeking new opportunities for growth, not divided by disparities,
Atleast this field u guys have not touched yet..

* An India that is caring and inclusive.
