India will become supermost power
by Hemant Naik on Nov 14, 2006 05:54 PM  Permalink

I can say India is already a superpower and will become supermost power country in the world just by see the way it is growing. example of innocent child Ananta Gupta, a 3yrs old son of Adobe India's CEO, in the news. This was restricted to Bihar and now it is in all through the country. This beautiful power is spreading throughout the country. There is no doubt that it will become the supermost power. No work, No pain, only ransom of money. The growth rate is more than height of Himalaya.
Well done my mother India. Long live your such children.

Re:How 'll India become a super power!!!
by Krishna Kishore on Nov 14, 2006 02:41 PM  Permalink

Dear friends,
Everyone of us know that there are many factors (politics, curruption, population etc) which need to focussed to reach this objective.
Above all this I was taught to improve myself and help myself to reach a position from where I can help others.I am convinced and I strongly believe that this is the key. Because at my age and background I cannot control the above said factors according to my will. But the only thing I can try to control is myself and the only thing I can help the most is myself so that I may reach a position where I can help my fellowbeings in all ways (monetarily, physically, emotionally and spiritually).
regards,
Krishna.

long way to go!

Over 300 million people in India are living under poverty. So do you dare imagine India being superpower?

Neither Call centers nor few big companies make India super power. So first we have to come out of poverty, then every one has to recive basic education, health care. When we achive all these basic things we can definitely aim for big. Unforunately it will take lot hell of time to achieve these very basic things.

How'll India become a superpower
by abhinav on Nov 14, 2006 12:20 PM  Permalink

We suffer from the most irrational of human folly i.e. grandeur. We have too much vanity and too less substance. I find it ridiculous when some morons speak of India being a super power in future when it can not feed even half its population.
It will be much better if we give up the idea of being a super power and instead try to feed the millions of hungry children, provide job to the jobless, provide education to the illiterate, get electricity to the dark villages, get water to the remote rural parts.
I prefer India to be like some small obscure European nation which may not have the nukes but has plenty of electricity, which may not necessarily produce a Tharoor but will have 100% literacy, may not send mission to the moon but will have job for everyone, may not have a glorious past but has a promising future, may not call the shots on international stage but the can effectively handle any crisis at home.

Health does matter
by Indian Soldier on Nov 14, 2006 12:08 PM  Permalink

Just like a wealthy but diseased person can't live longer, a rich but insecure nation cannot rise.
There is no doubt that indian business is flourishing, and if politicians don't meddle with it, india will be reaping rich dividends.
But what about the security of the nation? In present times India faces major threat from internal as well as external forces. Are our armed forces and intelligence agencies prepared for it? What is being done to prevent 7/11 like occurances? What is being done to prevent 1962 like situation? Yesterday when chineese ambassador claimed Arunachal, it became clearer that china and not pakistan is biggest threat to india. But still what has been done to protect out NE borders? At the time when chinese railways have reached indian borders at sikkim and arunachal, ministers cite financial constraints for laying railway lines in north-east? Was it cheaper to do so in J&K? Even today there is no proper highways in north-east which can transport indian army at less than a days notice to frontiers.
Becoming a superpower is still a fragile dream for India which can easily be crushed. The question is whether we can give a fight or go down lamely and humiliated?

Yes India will become duper power
by Edwin on Nov 14, 2006 11:39 AM  Permalink

Our land is best in finding loop holes in any rule our government brings. Added to this law enforcement are made puppets, politicians are doing their best to swindle whatever can be swindled. You cannot even get a local electical connection without giving 300% of the original cost of the connection as bribe. This statement seems to me like telling a beggar "You will be a millionare after 10 days", when he is not sure of his next meal. People cant share water between states. They fight for it. But they will say "All Indians are my brothers & sisters". There is not truthfulness in anybody.

If we face a recession then we will know the super power and its relevance. People will buy anything only if it is made anywhere outside India. They have reasons to do so. The quality you know it best. . .

These are headings which rediff uses to generate traffic to its website. All the so called "positive minded people who comment here : Have you payed your taxes without manipulating the bills ??" Do that first and then speak about our country becoming a super power.

Sorry for being very negative.

--Edwin
