Re: Muslim donor
by Mayuresh on Apr 27, 2006 06:14 PM  Permalink

I think media is equally responsible for creating a divide based on castes. Politicians are doing enough nonsense to divide us.

Its unbelivable to have a report speaking about Muslim Donor.. Is it important for the reporter mention the caste of the donor, moreover rediff publishing it...

Imagine Muslim bowler takes 5 wickets for India or a Chritian scoring a century.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE STOP THIS NONSENSE FOR NATION'S SAKE

Should Have Titled as INDIAN and not as MUSLIM
by Lakshminarayann on Apr 27, 2006 06:09 PM  Permalink

The gesture of the muslim is really appreciated by all Indians. But the way media projects it is 'A Muslim' has come forward. Why should that difference come into picture. it should not be a surprise if a muslim or christian or a sikh comes forward. It should be appreciated as being done by an INDIAN. By telling that it was a Muslim it makes feel that he has done something that has not been done earlier by muslims(which is not the case. Muslims have/are contributing to this great nation). If it is a Hindu or Muslim or christian or a Sikh who ever it might be, every one is an indian by birth. Only that has to come first.

Why the emphasis on 'Muslim'
by Sumith on Apr 27, 2006 05:38 PM  Permalink

Can't you say the name of the person, or a person from Bihar came forward to donate kidney to Mahajan. Why the emphasis on 'Muslim'? I'm the person who came forward for this came with good intentions, but you have disgraced himself and made it look like a gimmick.

The politician are enought to divivde the country on religion lines.. And now you writers and reporters are turning into the next group of people who want to divide this country. Shame on you.

Regards

why so much discrimination ?
by anagha on Apr 27, 2006 05:08 PM  Permalink

As per the news in the daily The Hindu, a person named Shivaji Salunke also came forward to donate his liver to Mr Promod Mahajan. I guess that was not a very important news as he is not a muslim, is that so? Why should a genuine human being who just wants to do a good deed not treated as a human being alone. Why do we need to attach the religion tag with anyone and everyone? Both the Indians Shivaji Salunke and Naushad Haider are great human beings who have the courage to think beyond themselves. Hats off to them!

May be a Cheap publicity stunt
by Girish Joshi on Apr 27, 2006 04:54 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Being the political leader (with some basic medical knowledge) he may be aware of the medical requirements for the kidney transplantation.

He is displaying himself as a kindney donar but actually he may be knowing that his kidneys will not be acceptable. Also as a publicilty stunt, he is offering his both kidneys pretending as if he does not know anything.

Uhhhh.. when street corner politicians will start working for genuine public cause.
