If, as suggested in your article, Israel would like to put pressure on Iran economically, doesn't it make more sense for them to back the N-pact on the grounds that India would not need to look towards Iranian gas for its energy needs? Your comments, please.
Jews have been to US as Brahmins were to Bhartians.
Jews have been associated with Egyptians, Romans, British, Spaniardos, Germans and Americans. They have brought them all down for their single minded persuit of three things-money,money and money.
Jews are aftraid of Indians in America as they wrongly believe that with Hindu Phylosophy, the Indians will not subvert America but Americans will gain back their independence and Jews will lose their power. Iran or no Iran Jews will not allow Hindus to be helped.
Another junk analysis of why Americans oppose nuclear deal. Some desi guy comes to New York or Boston, meets some Americans and think he knows all the nuances of American politics and American thoughts. And starts writing in rediff.com. To your question, the only answer is large number of Americans still feel not so good to dole out nuclear technology in such easy and favorable way to India. Because Americans think 100 yrs down the future and hence they know India would be bigger threat to US in next 100 yrs than say, Iran. And thats the reason, why so many Americans still feel so uneasy. Accept this fact, instead of junk long analysis of the reasons. Desis must understand: nothing comes so easy and cheap in this world. The country which has mastered so passionately nuclear technology for so many years, would not like to give away to India in such childish manner!
India should see to it that the efforts of the jewish lobby are thwarted as was the Mulayam singh pollitics rejected inthe larger interest of the country
Even before reading this article, I had been wondering why the data points seemed to indicate that most people opposed to this deal seemed to be Jewsish. The best conclusion I was able to reach is that pro-Israeli people feel India is getting special treatment and Israel, like Pakistan, is being left out. That feeling of being left out is what could be driving this.
Other than that, they may feel it will hurt the Iranian case 1% but India getting the deal benefits them 0%. The lack of a BJP like bonhomie with Israel would overcome this, but that isn't there between the Congress party and Israel.
I have a problem with the justification you provide for the Jews not approving of the Nuke deal.
I agree that Jews would not like India and Iran getting closer and that they have influence over the senators and the reps.
I also agree that they would like to weaken Iran as much as possible before any war breaks out.
I am not sure how these facts deduce that they should thwart the nuke deal. On the contrary, I think it is in their best interests to make this deal a success. It is know that India faces energy problems. These problems could be solved by the Iranian gas pipeline OR ithey can be solved by having more nuclear power plants and nuclear fuel. Now, if they want to weaken Iran, they should support the deal, let India have the nuclear fuel and thereby solve India\'s energy problems. Having its energy problems solved, India would be more inclined to scrap the pipeline project, harming Iran\'s economy.
