This Maoist with Gun point terrifying poor and uneducated people and forcing Young minds to join the Maoist Group. Maoist (with help of china) wants dectatorship of some people of communist and wants to rule small country like Nepal. the killing of Royal family is seems to be a conspiracy heading towards communism. in India all this Maoist are Big Nucesnce and they are prospering under the name of people fights. May lord Visnu and whatever you call to the Lord help Nepalis to serve themselves. India himself not clear how to deal with own problems .How some one can expect Sonia's(gandhi)"Mohara" will help in solving Nepalis problem?
I just can't believe some of the comments. How could you even think that Nepal should merge with India?! How about India merging with the United States? May be that way Indians will be better off, since the US is so powerful.
Indians should keep their hands off in Nepali matter. That is one of the primary reason why Nepal is not developed. Because India just can't see Nepal being prosperous.
It will just be great when there is security between Nepal-India borders. So there won't be any wood smuggling, and girls trafficking in Mumbai and other parts of India, and all other bad influences that come from India. And there will be less crimes in Nepal. All these influences come from Bollywood anyways.
You need to realize that Nepalis love their country as much as you love yours. Please learn to have some respect!
If you would censor most of the stuff critical to marxists or written by marxists, then why do you have this comments column ? Lets have a rule, where only those who can be analyzed are hindus, not the chinese paid agents supporting people's goondaism, called revolution.
India is poor in strtegic planning. In Srilanks, India has failed. There is no other good example showing that India is good in strtegies either for its own or for others. Pakistan, Bangladesh, Chiana, Srilanka and now one more - Nepal. Thanks to Indian people including all sections and divisions and streams for their poor forevision.
i am amazed to see such a crapy article ,, India is not worried about nepal , we are peace loving ppl and would like democracy to progress in china . and want tibet also to be freed and have a multi party system. there is nothing to worry
Its easy to write one's own perspective, but its difficult to say what is good and with respect to the problem. At times this individual perceptions becomes the corner stone of our foreign policy, especially with our neighbors. This has been the case right after freedom. We at times fail to see things intheir right perspective, in terms of what is good for that country, namely Monarchy or democracy. If democracy what kind of a democracy? Is it a democracy the west advocate in its own style. Or the one we (India) perceive in its own style, or its rule that would be for a stable and prosperous Nepal? I think the last one is important not the former. One must know the situation in Nepal and say what is good for them at this moment when Maoists are in full control, in terms of streangth and power. When the polititians has lost their credibility, they became weak and when the people is divided and they themselves dont know what is good and what is right, they just clamour DEMOCRACY. The point is that maoists are more than happy with democracy for they can run their bussiness as ussual and grow in streangth. What India is doing in Nepal now is a serious crime by making the KING WEAKER.
This is also a true test of Indian diplomacy in Nepal. India should convince Nepal not to take the route of Moaists or Communists. These idiots are agitating in the name of democracy, how ironic can this be, commies fighting against the King in the name of democarcy. Once the commies get power Nepal will go down the drain and become a Chinese puppet. India must be very careful and quickly deliver a democratic solution. Strengthen the democratic forces and separate the Maoists and chase them back into the mountains...
India has always been run by myopic, brainless idiots who can't see past thier noses, far less to realize the dangerous happenings in Nepal - the blind leading the blind. Worse yet, Indians are always reactive, never proactive! Even with all their experts, they seem incapable of sizing up a situation or formulating an appropriate strategy; rather, aways waiting until things have become totally untenable, and are now forced to act, by which times it's usually too late.
While the very articulate mass media raves about the power of the people spilling into the streets and the monarchical power crumbling, I sense a deja vu. Only the most naive can believe that the poor and semi literate Nepalese are so passionate about self governance. Clearly some forces are cleverly manipulating and whipping up hysteria. Even granting that this is the deafening cry of the suppressed human spirit for freedom, one can hardly expect a happily ever after fairy tale ending to this struggle. The people will only move into a period of anarchy, despotism or a manipulative democracy of wily politicians. More blood and more exploitation indifferent names. Poor people! True solution to human misery lies in spiritual awakening which can come only by taking shelter of selfless spiritual leaders.
