Good move
by Sandeep on Apr 12, 2006 10:43 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Yes, The dance bars must be allowed and it should be properly planned and implemented in order not to affect the society. As many dance bars become pick up joints, the cops need to take certain measures and work towards that accordingly. no mean in harassing the bar girls.

Mr Sandeep, Amongst the various messages, yours was the nearest to my opinion. I specially liked last line--Live and let live. I don't know what the Dance bars are or where they do exists in Delhi ? Yet I oppose the idea of Govt banning anything that it does not like. Its undeocratic way of ruling. It should be better left for the public not to protect Dance bars by visiting that place. I would love to see dance bars die its natural death.

Should dance bars be allowed.
by labrea on Apr 12, 2006 10:26 PM  Permalink

Heck yes! It's just a red-herring - just another hare-brained political gimmick by pandering selfish netas. The self-appointed morality ayatollahs will have you believe that disallowing dance bars will create a morally virtuous society, but going by all available evidence, Indian society is already totally amoral, hypocritical and corrupt. Dance bars are heaven compared to the filth and sqaulor of the nightmarish, hellish lives the majority of the starving population are forced to lead.

Should dance bars be allowed?
by HARISH JOSHI on Apr 12, 2006 10:24 PM  Permalink

Dance bars should not be allowed to start as they are a nuisance for the society.

We all should appreciate the bold step taken by the sate government on this issue. We always criticize the govt. for not doing the work but when they did some thing no body appreciates.

As far as the rehabilitation of the bar dancers are concerned, my view on this is they were not invited by mumbaites or the goverment to come to mumbai and do this filty business to run their lively hood. Then why should the govt. rehabilitate these people.

Bar owners are the real culprit behing the scene, they make money out this filty business.

Harish

Dance to the tunes of the CM!
by Vidya Ramanathan on Apr 12, 2006 10:19 PM  Permalink

Why in heaven's name is the Govt. behind these girls?? What is it that Deshmukh wants? He wants these girls only to dance for him???
What has the Govt. achieved by putting these girls out of bussiness?? Do they (Govt.) have a rehabilitation programme first to employ these women in professions of 'dignity' before closing down such bars??
Has Mr. Deshmukh taken the responsibility to feed and educate their families now their bred-winners are unemployed??
How has he made sure that these women are not forced into prostituion or does he consider prostitution a more 'dignified' profession??
Only if the Govt. is made to answer these questions to the satisfaction of these poor women, should they be made to appeal against the High court order!
