The deal was arrived at by the Neanderthaal and his coterie.
by chanakya on Apr 14, 2006 02:02 PM  Permalink

It is the responsibility of the Neanderthaal to convince his countrymen across the party lines to see the whole thing through.

Bharat Varsh need not brood over it any more.

Indo-US nuke deal in trouble
by labrea on Apr 03, 2006 09:49 PM  Permalink

Maybe the nuking of this deal by Congress could be a blessing in disguise for India in the long-run as it will force her to stop pussyfooting around and put more serious effort into R&D, especially in the use of Thorium for indeginous power generation, with input from both public and private entities. And, even with the N-deal nuked, the rest of the deal not realated to N-power, such as space technology, agriculture etc., which will be be very beneficial to both parties, can still go forward.

chill

I think we need not return to our previous colonial hangover when asst sec of state Robin Raphael smiling more while in Pakistan meant that India was a loser. I think the media needs to grwo up ( about time) and not present every article written as the end of a deal or the making of one. These debates will go on, we should focus and work for the end result. all this is speculation and we in Indai are playing into the hands of those who want greater debate and arguments over this deal by carrying them as headlines at rediff.

Clever ploy, Mr. Bush!
by Prashanr on Apr 03, 2006 08:44 PM  Permalink

It appears Mr. Bush didn't and doesn't actually expect the Indo-US nuclear deal to get approved by the Congress. The controversy generated helps to divert the media attention from the central porblem of the Iraq crisis.

We wish you good luck, Mr. Bush!
