His followers and his works is his nobel prize. But Nobel prize will help to spread his good works more and more to the world.

Nobel prize
by ram bhupati on Feb 17, 2006 12:59 AM  Permalink

It is easy to do a lot of charity when one has the resources. It is easy to utter lovely things full of wisdom and pithy sayings. Several persons have the gift of almost mesmerising others with their words. The media also can hype such persons and their wares provided they gain from the demand. I would like to see the holy Ravi Shankar risk his reputation (and life?) for the cause of truth and peace by at least speaking out clearly and unambiguously against the fundamentalist organizations who carry on a hate campaign with impunity against those who hold a different world view. He would make a difference given his world wide appeal and fame. Such a person would truly rise even above the Nobel Prize which his admirers so covet for him.Nobel prizes are irrelevant when the country is bleeding and human beings are denied their dignity while so called holy people speak from within their safety zones.

Guruji - Not for other fellow Hindu Organizations

.... "ART OF LIVING" Ravishankar Guruji which is to be held in Bangalore on 17th, 18th and 19th of this month at Jakkur. The Program is in Joint Collabration with Times Group a Total Anti-hindu Group. The Organisers have set up over 1,100 Stalls at the venue on Rental Basis. Few days back, few Hindu Publications like, Hindu Vani, Sanathan Samsthan, Hindu Voice, Prabhat Vani, Bharathiya Pragnya, had approached "Art of Living" head quarters on Kanakpura Main road Bangalore requesting for a Stall to display their literature at the venue. The Organisers demanded from Rs.50,000 to Rs. 1,00,000 for each Stall from an individual for 3 day Event. Most of the Hindu Publishers who could not afford such a huge amount asked for some discount, Unfortuantely the Stall organiser Mrs. Vasanthi Iyer, turned down their request and said that this is not a Marwadi's shop to bargain or beg. The Publishers went back empty handed. Later on the Hindus learnt that Mrs. Vasanthi Iyer (A Times Foundation Member) and Sri Sri Ravishankar have alloted 38 Premium Stalls to Popular Christian Organisations actively operating in India without even charging a rupee from them. ....

Nobel prize for Sri Sri Ravi Shankar
by Alokmay on Feb 13, 2006 03:44 PM  Permalink

Guruji doesnot want any prize to help his cause. His deeds say it all. By the way, if he doesnot get the prize just because he is HINDU, its absurd. Religion doesnot decide the prize. lot of INDIANs like Rabindra Nath Tagore, Amartya Sen, Hargovindlal Khurana have recieved the nobel prize although they all were non-christians.
