If Pakistan can have not only access to US/EU nuclear tech (even if under the table) and also the opportunity to sell, while getting cozy with all major players in the "manufacture and export" of terrorism, why shouldn't India be treated on an equal footing.
Given India's track record, it is safer to do it with India. They might be able to steal such technology from India, but they'll never be able to buy it. In case of Pakistan, both the options are available.
This is going to be a major issue between India-USA relations. India must solve this, the ball is in India's court. My personal feeling is that Iran is going to be another Iraq; USA will definitely go to the extreme and we will see another US occupied country in middle east. In that case, India will lose both USA and the gas for which she is taking this risk. So she has to decide if the risk is worth taking and be wise enough to understand international situations.
India should not forgo/severe ties/deals with Iran under USA pressure as India should remember the longterm ties with other countries esp; Russia,Iran,France,Britain etc which are essential and these are the one which have always backed us. Considering the previous treatment meted to us by USA;we should remember one important point that USA will support/back Pakistan only in any eventuality and will definitely betray our trust. I might be very critical about USA but this is a fact.No doubt i understand the ground realities that we should appease USA only to a certain extent but only on our terms as much as possible. USA has no right to interfere in our internal affairs and USA policy of dictating terms to other countries should not be encouraged.we should not allow USA to interfere our foreign policy on its terms at any cost. I am of the view of forging "An Axis of Good" comprising India,china and Russia to counter USA monopoly or dominance in every thing. From, Dr.Mohd Ilyas

no!!!!!!! i totally disagree with this. india must tie up with US if it wants to make any progress further. its only US which can help india build its economy and many things thereafter. i am not against iran making its nuclear weapons but being indians we must make sure taht we are safe all the time in future. if we support iran ....no doubt it will be attacked by US and later we will not get any oil fron iran..so we have to make a decision which will favour us. and if there is going to war between ind and pak by any chance i will promise u iran being an islamic republic will support pak and not ind.
