If she was forced to wear the short clothes for the sport, she would have been seen in a burkha off the court, but she seems to be very comfortable wearing western clothes and jazzy T shirts off the court too. What she wants to wear and how she wants to live is her choice..She is wise enough not to comment on stupid issues and concentrate on tennis which seems to be her religion.
Why do we HAVE to bring in the issue of religion for every damn thing in this country?? A person of GOD really has no business concerning themselves with such matters..let them dedicate their time to finding the true meaning of whichever religion they belive in or follow!
Sania should concentrate on Tennis rather than on anybodies comment. she should wear outfits which give her more comfort while playing, so that she can deliver her best as she is doing.
It doesn't matter what outfit you are in while playing as long as you are best in that Game.
so according to me she should concentrate more on game and get some big title, which will proud moment for India too.
point is a religion which forces rules down ur throat is no religion. naulvi has made a mistake in issuing a fatwa, which means She deserves to die!!! A person s faith is accepted thru one's own conviction and not another's interpretation.
It is not for the Shenoy's or any idle cleric looking for an issue to let loose his tongue... They say... AN IDLE MIND IS A DEVIL'S WORKSHOP.. how true) or for that matter any other individual to comment on Sania's or for that matter any other woman's dress code.
The Muslim Clerics should first reform themselves before passing any comments on Sania. They should address real issues of women empowerment and should not waste energy on a young girl who had done entire nation proud. They must look at reforms which Pakistan and other muslim countries have introduced.
What a dim - witted , pointless article. The entire article could have been reduced to 2 lines.
Firt Line : The maulvi is correct from his perspective as he sees the world from his well and cannot see the bigger picture of the world. Thats his problem.
Second Line : Sania is making a choice of profession (and India's glory - I may add) over that of following her religion to the strictest doctrine.
The author has written a long complicated boring article to explain the above points, and rather unfortunately he has (intentionally / unintentionally) proved that if Sania really is devout , she can make that choice to sacrifice her carreer for her religion (as the Iranian women did so - gracefully as per the author). Sir, you have done nothing worthwhile for the country - so pls dont try to stop an Indian prospect from doing well. The controversy is dead - dont rekindle it. Maybe your intentions are not bad , but your results are awful.
