India should start asserting her minimal interests vis-a-vis china and impose costs on china for helping pak to indias disadvantage what pak is to india taiwan is to china. India must develop close military cooperation with taiwan and vietnam. There is no need for india to confront the dragon with bended knees.India must realize that china not pak is threat no.1.Pak IS JUST A NUCLEAR EXTENSION OF CHINA ssharma
it a fine article but one should allways remember that china is a communist nation most of it moves are hidden it will be fast to coment on their move and we should not also forget one other side she is helping or traditional rivel pakistan against us she hav never talk about land ocupied by her and why is she not librating tibet we a million migrators from their .it will be a great if we trust them as she is great threat to us then pakistan.
An interesting article. As a citizen I have serious misgivings on the way our government is conducting the issue. Even the mandatory 2-line statement on the last talks has not appeared. Meanwhile, a paper talks of a secret deal- to give up on the west and gain some in the east. A second betrayal of the country is being cleveraly portrayed as a UPA victory.
I am not for this govrnment creating an anti-China hysteria as China does vis a vis Japan but our leaders owe it to the nation to ensure that the humiliation of the 1962 is repaired satisfactorily. The political one-upmanship to settle with the neighbouring countries at the cost of the national interest will do great harm to the government which can fall like nine-pins. Even the greatest leader like Nehru lost his charisma by his faltering steps on China. Lesser leaders should learn a lesson. Media hype cannot create strength. It is a sad phenomenon that our media is suffering from a Chinese-phobia. Papers publish photos of Beijing-Lhasa railway but does not talk a world on Hannifaction of Tibet. Nor do they monitor the developments in Xinjiang which can cause long-term trouble for us in the north.
Indian politicians are mere babies when it come to int'l politics, who have in the past, been only too willing to give away the store to gain nothing more than a pat on the back and some friendly chatter. China cannot be, and is not to be trusted - they only play by thier rules and they expect everyone else to also play by thier rules. Well you in north block or wherever, better wise up - you are now a bit more mature and in a more powerful position to tell them where they can get off.
