Dear Mr Mir, India would have gladly helped the disaster struck regions and would have been able to save all the people trapped inside the rubble. The issue was that Pakistan Government refused the offer of help from India. I am certain that the extent of death would have been much less if Pakistan government were to allow India to carry out the rescue operation immediately after the earthquake. Instead Pakistan chose to refuse the help that Indian government offered. By this single decision, Pakistan signed death sentence on all those Kashmiris who were trapped in debris and still alive. I really feel sorry for all such unwanted deaths of people who could have been saved but for the intrasigent attitude of Pakistani government on the issue of help from India. It is the Pak army and Gen Musharraf who had many things to hide and who could not risk exposure by allowing Indians a role in earthquake relief.
i read abt the lesson. if you governments are enemies or you army are enemies.... don't include common man into it. we still have some sensible pakistani people who r good friends of ours. i don't think they would say we are enemies. this enemity and grudge is all created by the government, for the government anf of the government. just a few officials on will not mean the entire pakistan or india. whenever i meet a patistani in US i make it a point ask them abt thier hatred level towards india. but i always heard them talking so proudly about thier indian background. so please keep your lessons to yourself. natural calamity is routine issue in india. i am yet to hear about pakistan's relief to india.
To tell us what had happen on 8th Oct, i like to now one thing from you sir r u from pakistan repoter or you r from indian repoter.which country you may be its great
Just wanted to acknowledge the quality and the balance of the article. The only thing I would like to add is probably the focus of future articles to what we have learnt and what we can do.
