What did this author and rediff got from this article..I suppose it should be the maximum number of replies in the negative side.
Many people would not have replied...This article may bring few things to limelight..But why can not leave it as such..Chennai has its own uniqueness in its culture and other things and it needs some time to digest the so called Western Outlook..Remember these kind of rules does not affect the Majority of the People but of the minority people from outside.
Luckily we do not have any political party beating up the outsiders or have in their agenda to drive the outsiders..
Chennai has some much of uniqueness apart from these night out games. We should respect the Culture and try adapting it.
The sarcastic comments made in this article really hurts and rediff will remain in my memory forever for this article.
this is the age of liberalism. "we should be allowed to do what we want as long as it doesnt affect others".
yeah.
what is wrong in having some "simple clean fun".
and why stop with kissing?
i'm sure a lot of us would like to do "it" in the open. after all it is pretty much an essential part of life and everybody does it. why should there be shame associated with it? and why should we hide it? and how does my doing it affect anybody?
think of it. everybody doing it out in the open in the park.
wouldnt we be considered the greatest liberals then?
Chennai is great.. At least, it is the only metro in the country which has some respect to tradition and culture. People are running mad and it's all westernization everywhere. Chennai still preserves the culture and it respects the great Indian predecessors who fought for India and its heritage. East or West, Chennai is the best.
Please try to understand that when there are certain rules laid down by our forefathers, they were done with lot of intellect and foresight (of course experiance of generations also)- and it was not forced because of their selfishness, etc.
In all frankness, you could do whatever you want in your young age and have a lot of fun without caring for anything like discipline, values etc... but be prepared to pay for all that when you become old(Is there any doubt about alcohol/smoking/HIV etc. are good for health?).
It maybe argued that the freedom of choice could be left with the young, but young do not have considerable experiance to judge the result of actions and they tend to act out of their heart than brain - nothing wrong about that - just remember that you have to pay for all your actions, if not today definitely tomorrow.
