Lets remember that there are 'No permenant Friends and Foes in Politics' and this is more true in International Politics. In The Case Of India-Iran-USA relation India has to do best what is best for itself. I guess there were 2 options for India in this 'Iran Vote' Option 1:- Perpare Itself To Accept to have another 'Islamic Nuclear State' in its neighourhood by voting for Iran. Option 2:- Legtimate USA to Be the Sole Supplier of OIL and Gas to the World by voting against Iran. India voted for Option 2, only Time will tell if India did the best for itself. Option 1 is a very scary for India.Iran may appear stable today but a future Shia-Sunni Conflict cannot be ruled out in the OIL Rich Middle East.U already have a 'Sunni Islamic Nuclear Bomb' with Pakistan,India just cannot afford to have a new 'Shia Nuclear Bomb'.India should also not see a friend in USA who is out to dominate and Control the 'OIL and Gas' supplies. Its invasion of Iraq was not for any 'WMDs' but only for Oil.What is happening in case of Iran is just a repeat of Iraq. It was 'WMD' for Iraq it is 'Nuclear Bomb' in case for Iran, just finding an excuse to invade it and control its oil supplies.
I admire Manmohanji a lot. After Atalji we have got our next PM equally intelligent, humble & honest, which is our good luck.
The only problem with Manmohanji is that he doesn't come out in attack or defence, to communicate with the billion Indians, telling them what he thinks.
The US nuke deal is something he should be proud of. But why can't he address the nation on his achievements? Atalji did it so gracefully and frequently that the opposition was almost silent for 6 years. Now by not talking about anything, Manmohanji is giving the pages of media very graciously to his internal & external opposition.
I know, respected Manmohanji, that one should talk through his own deeds and not through words, but the field of politics (actually it applies to any job you do) is such that, one should work hard and showcase it too. Only one of these two (hardworking or showcasing) just doesn't work.
I don't want you to talk to media at breakfast, lunch, supper & dinner, just like MUSH does. But not so less often too, please..please..
When MUSH was equating Kashmir with Palestine, it was a great opportunity for you to have your speech scheduled after his. But you didn't say much
UPA government has done a big mistake by voting against Iran at IAEA. US is friend of none but only the personal interests. India has lost a very relaible friend like Iran for the sake of blessings from US. UPA will have to face public anger for this unpopular act.
I dont understand what our PM is telling. The voting itself have only two options. either against or to support. To support one is will be against for others. Here what our great PM did was against iran (support US? for whom?? for what ?? !!!) By this act we bcome the "chamcha" of US. Yes thats the true fact.
the stand of india on irans nuclear policy gives a clear indication even for a layman that india is the future puppet of america.By pleasing the UN and US in order to gain a Permanent Membership in the security council they have betrayed the old friend.USA wants to creat a barrier between muslims and non muslims ,why are they silent against north korea and israel although they have accepted possessing nuclear technology. It would be a disaster for india if they do not reconsider their blunder.
Mr.Prakash Karat could have emulated Gorbachev and taken the Indian Communist Party to its next phase---but I am afraid he is still spouting nonsense(pro-Iran)like a petty communist party worker-----I hope Brinda Karat instills some sense to her comrade husband and stop him from wasting away a historic opportunity.Prakash----learn from Buddha----he is miles ahead of you.
Indian aim should be to cash on its popularity wave to enmass wealth rather than calling for internal and external controversies. We have no internal mechanism to have a referendum although we call ourselves the greatest ever democracy on earth. The world is prostrating in front of India and why not cash on this. Once we are powerful then we can decide to vote against this or that. We should learn the chinese pattern wherein they kept quiet till they became powerful and now nobody dares to talk against China. This is what we have to learn. Why the hell are we bothered about what is happening here and there. See that we become the richest in a a few decades, sell our technology to other developing nations, have the maximum number of patents and eliminate illiteracy and poverty. Former days, we were going and asking for financial aid and technology but the world is coming to us for technology and manpower. Encourage those who have gone abroad to come and invest and improve our wealth. They should be encouraged to come back because the developed nations are short of manpower, less literate and less intelligent and depend on our brains. Donot bother whether Iran exists but get oil.
I don't understand why this issue has been spreading like wildfire. Although, i ain't a genius i would like readers to ponder upon my points and decide themselves, whether the vote was good or bad for India.
1)Iran must also have voted in the OIC in favour of resolutions tabled by Pakistan on the Kashmir issue? Was there so much debate?
2) The gas piplines would have benefitted more in terms of income generated to Pakistan than to India.
3)Although i dont like to sound a pessimist, but would the gas supply to India in the long run would have been consistent and reliable after spending to many billions & on which our economy would have progressed, especially when it was passing thru a terrorist ridden country like Pakistan. There would have been blasts on the pipeline and Pakistan would blame the so called mujahideen and the indian stock markets would go into a tailspin. So how much blasts would have been needed for the pipeline to be abandoned by India for good.
All i want to say that this vote is a blessing in disguise. Although i would not prefer india to part ways with a friendly Islamic country like Iran. But mind you the world's geopolitics is changing. Thanks.
Time to think of something that can replace the importance of oil in our lives. feul cells or nuclear fuel + technology from uncle sam may be the way out. A big No to the pipe dream through pakistan to india. Our government cannot even protect the pipelines in our own territory from all those anti nationals funded by ISI and BDR then what will be the fate of pipeline read (pipedream for pakistan) whose terror factory always talks of and believes in peace, (read peice of loyal indians and their assets)
