I think that any true Indian would want to see and ensure that the brutal murder of 250 innocent citizens who were killed in the drastic and cowerdly act by the terrorists should be avenged. And the only way that it can be done is (now salem then dawood)...would be to publicly lash him 1000 lashes for every citizen killed..(1000x250 = 250000). This should be enough to kill him...but incase he does not die...his head should be publically chopped off.
NO, he should not be given death penalty at all, instead the Indian public should be allowed to slice him in pieces, in public! He should be not be killed at once, but to be killed slowly so that he can experience the similar pain to those killed after the Mumbai blasts. A Demon like personality should never be spared. India was a soft and divided country in the past, that was the reason many invaders took us for the ride.It is high time that we become a tough and united country in facing the future threat of terrorism, if we have to survive long enough on this map!
If abu salim's extradition to india is based on him not being given the capital punishment then the same had to be followed.
If not followed all contries in future would be watchful in extraditing indian criminals back to india. This would block the extradition of absconding criminals await extradition.
A life sentence of around 50 years would make up for the capital punishment.
Is it a question to be asked? He must be given the capital punishment, if he deserves it. Actually, in cases like this we should learn from China and such people should be hanged in public for doing the crimes so that others don't dare to think about repeating them.
u cant have a extradication like this, more over if abu salem is not given the death penalty .. it will trigger more criminal to take refuge in these countries for softer terms.
if this is war on terror...portugal must allow indian court to give their sentence..
yes,he may be given the death penalty.but, only after ascertaining and confirming his involvement in the heinuous crimes.it's a big achievement for our country.it will act as a deterrent to others.
Any average educated indian, who knows a little about the extradition, now does know that Abu Salem cannot be given the death penalty as Indian govt could only get him here by giving that assurance to Porchugeese. Well, if the question is about whether does he deserve a death penalty, the answer is simple. If he is proven at least 20% responsible for Bombay blasts (means direct cause for death for of atleast 50 people), yes, he deserves a death penalty.
Conveniently, we tend to forget (or we want to forget?) the important question. How n what made these Abu Salems, Chota Shakeels, Chota Rajans, and finally Dawwod Ibrahims? Aren't these people were the scions of the very society we do live in? Atleast, science couldn't prove so far that any one could be a born criminal (I challenge if anyone can disprove it on any stage and any where). Sooner or later, as a society, we have to root out or rectify the root cause. As an after thought, how would it be, if our CBI or whatever spend (or permitted to spend) enough time n resources find the criminals inside and bring them to justice with out having to depend upon other countries for EXTRADITION. I know I'm dreaming!!!
