In my view hang salem within a month period, otherwise another Indian Airlines will be hijacked by his rubbish group.Indian government has already spend a huge amount of money to nab the bullshit salem and his kept monika. The same amount could be used in the improvement of poor section. If these chaps will kept as if a treasure like kohinoor diamond then keep in mind that they will glow oneday and let others to burn on the radiation. Best of luck to Indian Judiciary.
There are two dimension of this case. Part 1: Based on the evidence if Abu Salem is proved guilty by court then nothing less than death penalty can be settled with him. Part 2: Based on the hard earned reputation India was able to extradite Salem from Portugal on condition of not awarding capital punishment. I think India should respect it and imprisonment for whole life should be given. Does it mean that a clean chit to Abu Salem and may be sometime later some corrupted system might even allow him to escape. I think India has now come over ages and there are other ways out of the book to deal with this case. So diplomacy should must be respected and at the same time national pride should be dealt out of book. JAI HIND
Just tell me one thing what was the logic behind spending nearly $10 million to get Abu Salem extradited to India? Has he been brought to India to have fun with Indian agencies (play Hide n Seek) and spend some quality time in his home country after committing so many deadly crimes?
I read in a new paper that there was a MOU with Portugal Govt on not giving capital punishment to Salem15 months back a person in Kolkata (dhananjay chatterjee) was hanged till death after raping and killing a girl. In terms of crime committed by MR ABU SALEM he stands no where. Then why was he hanged?
A person who is the prime accused in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts that killed around 250 people and several other crime. What does he deserve? I feel he should be hanged till death as early as possible if govt cares about the sentiments of people who suffered due to him. Being a Human being he is a curse on this earth.

As any patriotic Indian I think there should not be any sort of hesitation from the Indian Government in giving Abu Salem a capital punishment. He has committed most heinious crime one can imagine, waged a war against state & its democracy, caused disharmony between religions giving rise to communal riots. Government should not give any heed to Portugal whatsover, & India as a country is selfsufficient & has got nothing to do with a tiny country like Portugal who has only exploited India in past during their colonilism. Our Government/ CBI has done the right thing. Had we not given the assurance Portuguese government would have released Abu Salem and he would have disappeared. By giving this promise we have succeded in bringing him here. We would never have been able to interrogate him and would have lost all the information / intelligence that he is giving right now.
If we break the promise and give him the death penalty then in future no other country will beleive us. No country which have these rules will extraditiate any person to India in the future. We will loose our face in the international community. Also these countries will become a safe haven for all the criminals, cuz they will know that they can never be extraditied to India even if caught.
But we should never release him from jail. The sentences should not run simultaniously. They should be such that when one ends the other starts. This will make sure that no one suffers because of him in the future.

Yes... Abu Salem should be hanged. Mercy is deserved by a person whose possibility remains that he might become a better person. Here, he has been behind killing of hundreds of people and creating fear in the society. He deserves the same.
Yes of,course, why not? If we will not give death panelty to him , than what for Death Panalty is in our Laws. We should give him death Panalty & let him face the GOD.
