I think the court (if the crime is proven) should give him what he deserves - death penalty.... but the Gov should step in (via the President if that is the proper channel) and prevent the execution of the death penalty and change it to life sentence or something................ that way the court will do its part right without being under pressure and the govt (and India's international credibility) will be safeguarded as well... Portugal is a member of the European Union and it is their law that stipulates such a provision. However, given that Abu Salem is an Indian and also that Indian court is trying him for henious crimes committed against Indians in India, it is Indian court and the people of India who should have the final word on this matter and not some foreign goverment under whose territory he committed some petty crime. Well, if need be Police can always stage an encounter under the pretext that Abu Salem was escaping, or for that matter it might have already done had he been not connected to various people in the establishment. In order to prevent such a situation in future, say Dawood going to France and lighting up some car in the suburb and then coming to India with no fear of death penalty, Indian Goverment should pursue the matter with the EU and sort these things out.
Capital punishment to salem is objected by Europe and portugal , inject AIDs Virus , he will automatically die with pain remembering what he has done to the innocent people
Written agreement to Portugal apart, if Abu Salem is found guilty of his henous crime where more than 200 (official count?)people died, which affected thousands of families, directly or indirectly, he should be given the maximum possible punishment under IPC.
It is better to execute this kind of monsters in public than lodge them in some jail and spend lakhs of tax payers money on them for their life behind bars.
Investigation should make public all those politicians who were involved, and bring them to justice as well...but that seems to be an impossible expectation.
have u ever been heard that any politician or any person having great wealth and power got any punishment by hight court or supreme court??? dear i never heard..either i am mad or indian courts r blinds...when any politician or criminals..wait wait..i think they r same..coz these days who r joining politics..only criminals having great records in crime...there r many politicians who have commited a crime which was more dangerous than terrorism..and still passing their life with full of joy and respect...so i dont think that abu salem is more wicked than these pepoles..so i think we should give him a post of health minister...or we should give him any other department which he likes....this is the policy of india so we should treat him fairly according to our great policy...believe me if we give a chance then surely he will be one of the loving leader amongs all others...in india video cassettes becomes fake..audio recording can easily be rejected..only the fact is that which criminal says..if salem says that he was not involved in any serious crime..then he may be true...we should accept it...but beware these rules and regulations r not for normal citizens like me and u...thanks..
