Only one question arises while thinking abt this subject. Does death could serve the purpose ? i think not but we cant go beyond that. it would not b justifiable for the families of those 250 victims n many other persons who faced one of the most terryifying moments of their lives. though i was very young at that time n was at a safe & sound place far away from that but still i can feel the chill then went past thru me at that time.
so instead of asking other country for giving green signal to the death penalty shouldn't we ask whether they could have taken this step if this incidence is related to them ?? Yes, I'm of the opinion that Abu Salem should be given the death penalty if the charges against him are proves irrespective of what promise was made to any other government.
Its agreed and clearly evident that he is the guy behind the gruesome terrorist attack on Indian soil causing loss of lives and Infrastructure but since Indian Government has given a written undertaking with regards to punishment , should he be found guilty of all the charges levelled against him, in my opinion Government must keep its word to Portugese court,it proves our reliability.Infact we should be thankfull to Portugese court for favouring the extradition.I very well remember as how Malaysian court/Govt has refused to install an extradition case against Quatrochi wanted by Indian authorities to help in Bofors inquiry.

I think he should not be given a death panelty now. Until next 25 Years ( As a part of contract with Portugese govt). After that he should be chargeed again with some cases and given death panelty
