Who will judge the US and UN now?
by Ashwin K.Kumaraswamy on Nov 19, 2005 04:49 PM  Permalink

Well, thought of article. I agree with the columnist here for once as most of the media either be a Indian Express or even TVR Shenoy on rediff write their columns just as an obligation or either to incite hype else play in the hands of some political parties. It is very imperative to understand the roots of the problems and try to educate the people and media has a role cut out for that. But sadly in the present times media is looking for hype and try to pass judgements and castigate people, be it either the Oil for food scam or the coffin gate and even the bofors, Its high time the Media wakes up to its duties. With regards to who judges US and UN, probably the 154 member countries should make the security council more responsible for the present mess and its time to expand it so that it becomes more inclusive rather than exclusive. US preaches democracy to the world, but it opposes the UN reforms on security counicl and general assmebly which shows the duplicate policies of US to suit its needs and its beeing doing this for a long time. The member countries should wake up. For this to happen, people of the member countries should beleive their political parties a triffle more.

iam sure the 'oil for food' scandal is more than meets the eye. the truth may never come out, but there seem to be far bigger crooks than even saddam.

This is indeed shocking. There has been so much injustice done to the Iraqi people. UN is mainly responsible for this. People must raise their voice and expose the US perfidy

who will judge
by Firasath Riyaz on Nov 12, 2005 03:34 AM  Permalink

No matter how obvious it might seem, that UN & US have committed this fraud ( one among many) until the people realize and start a movement against UN & US frauds, no one is going to even think that there is any thing wrong forget about someone judging them. Media has to realize its role in this regard and take an active role in educating people about this reality. As far as judging them, I think, one day or the other they will be judged by people, though judgement might be delayed.

Firasath.
