Who will judge the US and UN now?
by Ashwin K.Kumaraswamy on Nov 19, 2005 04:49 PM

Well, thought of article. I agree with the columnist here for once as most of the media either be a Indian Express or even TVR Shenoy on rediff write their columns just as an obligation or either to incite hype else play in the hands of some political parties. It is very imperative to understand the roots of the problems and try to educate the people and media has a role cut out for that. But sadly in the present times media is looking for hype and try to pass judgements and castigate people, be it either the Oil for food scam or the coffin gate and even the bofors, Its high time the Media wakes up to its duties. With regards to who judges US and UN, probably the 154 member countries should make the security council more responsible for the present mess and its time to expand it so that it becomes more inclusive rather than exclusive. US preaches democracy to the world, but it opposes the UN reforms on security counicl and general assmebly which shows the duplicate policies of US to suit its needs and its beeing doing this for a long time. The member countries should wake up. For this to happen, people of the member countries should beleive their political parties a triffle more.
