Personally, I don't think Allah is my saviour and hence Quran cannot be of any reverence to me. But then I wouldn't think of being insensitive enough to hurt a believer's feelings. That being said, Quran is revered by Muslims, and for a "pagan", a "Kaffir" or a Christian, Quran means nothing and how can you expect them to "respect" it? There's a saying in Kannada to the effect that when an Elephant passes by a dog and the dog barks, the Elephant cannot cry of insult or afford to bark back at the dog. The fifteen people killed were all Afghan Muslims who probably think they became "martyrs". Yuck.
Newspapers and News channels should use their logic and see what such news can do. What ever happened is condemable and should never have happened? But the media should not just see now many hits or how many more copies will be sold. It has killed and/or hurt many more. I don't know how the matter should have been handled by the media, but I guess there could have been other ways than openly publishing it like this.
