Well said
by Praveen on Mar 29, 2005 03:37 AM  Permalink

Hi,
well said. the americans are still payin the price for having befriended saddam hussain, or coached and trained osama bin laden and "chemical ali". soon a day will come whent the poor and innocent american people will pay the price for such faults of the top level diplomats of their country. pakisthan is no different from iran. the us has always used different yard sticks for different countries even if the circumstances were the same. what can be more detrimental than equipping a nuclear rouge state like pakisthan with nuclear capable fighter planes. i absolutely agree with the author...we dont need to suck up to the us. we dont need their fighter planes. they can shove it up their hinds.

Kya F-16-wef-16 laga rakha hai.
by Zeya on Mar 29, 2005 12:15 AM  Permalink

Our typical Indian apathy and frustration and the useless pride of 5000 years old civilization! I think India should play the game with rules set exactly the way US has set. Not the way Osama Bin Laden does. I believe today's real weapon is economy not fighter jets, tanks and AK 47's.
Consider this:
1. India's forex conversion to Euro from USD, imagine $130B+ in free market! What will happen on Wall st.
2. No Re appreciation against USD (Chinese lesson, last 2 yrs Yuan has depreciated!! Yahoo Finance)
3. India builds air defense system similar to Star war prog. Its an arms race, yes. (Reagan did the same to USSR)
4. Buy out senators by economical making their voters dependent on Indian orders (China did the same)
5. Don't compromise with US. They need us otherwise they would not have offered the F-16. Remember, India can only counter China.
6. Buy oil from Arabs, keep them at war with Israel and among themselves(Iran-Iraq), sell them weapons and get the oil money back. Outsource(s/w, BPO) to India, aid Pak (win their loyalty), sell weapons to India get outsourced money back. Free lunch??
7. Alliance with Europe, N Korea, Iran.

Think about it.

US TELLS INDIA, DROP DEAD
by Chandra Shekar on Mar 29, 2005 12:14 AM  Permalink

Ketan has spoken for a billion Indians. Please if there is a way this article is published widely it would be very very helpful.

People in India have totally a different opinion about America and the so called welfare it promotes around the world. Reality is totally different, the world in caos and calamity is mainly because of them. Any one letting them enter in to your scope would suffer the same fate as the Russians currently with extra ordinary inflation and total social mess. Even the Japanese with all their checks and balances have ate mud with all their extra ordinary economic success. If Japan is promised a membership on a purely world's security body on their purchase of american beef, what else one can say about USA the Great country.

Let us keep them at a distance and only for cash and carry business deals.

Let our Government take steps now to understand this immediately and let every Indian know about this, Please, it is time we strengthen ourselves internally.
Each of our State is like a country in Europe, why do we neeed external help in any field.

US sells F-16s to Pakistan
by Jay on Mar 28, 2005 11:29 PM  Permalink

This time it was Rice, the Secretary of State, who didnot give a hint about the deal when she was in India just a week back. Last time it was Powell, then Secretary of State, who did not give a hint to India when he was there and went to Pakistan and announced it as a "non-NATO ally". US is perfecting its act of snubbing India. Only way around this is to ignore US and be friendly to other countries.
