Find scape goat in oft reapeted slogan Christian conversion
by fr. joe fernandes on Mar 21, 2005 11:46 PM  Permalink

B.Raman has equated the Indian Christians with the evil ones that support evil against the good done by him and his like the BJP and R.S.S. The final conclusion of his article is that the Christians are annoyed for Modi has stopped the Christian Missionaries from conversion. Where in India are the Christian free to convert/ Where are those converted Christians. The percentage of Christians is less than 2% since the last 2000 years. Is it not an anomaly? Pleas stop bashing Christians and the minorities. Fr. Joe

B. RAMAN 'S obsession of Christian Conversion true or False
by Fr. Joe Fernandes on Mar 21, 2005 11:38 PM  Permalink

B.Raman in his well written article ho to be blamed for visa denial to Mr. Modi does suttle bashing of Indian Christians in U.S.A. Trying to stick the Conversion label at every event and situation going wrong for his piers. Is B. Raman's memory so sort? Has he forgotten the Christian persecution in Gujarat? The who of Dang disrict in Gujarat has been wiped of Christians.
The Christians that fled Modi and his henchmen's persecution has not returned till date. Pitty the partisan one sided gaundiced way of seeing to every thing.

US knows that it can get away with this; it would never do such a thing against Saudis or the other heads of states from Gulf where Govts violate human rights , where there is no religious freedom but of course they have money. US may have done this to appease Muslims in the subcontinent just to show that they care for human rights at the expense of Poor Modi

Grow up Mr.Raman
by Karthik on Mar 21, 2005 10:46 PM  Permalink

Mr Raman,

All your more glorious examples of failures of the Center were all from the 60's. The more recent ones shouldn't have happened and yet they did. It is a shame that we use one failure to justify the next and so on. Its a crime! Don't point to Pakistan for mistakes when we can't correct them and be a role model ourselves. As a great democracy, to throw stones at some despots with systematic rioting every other year here is ?!

The very Act that even gave the right to comment/judge someone like Modi has only been in existence for a few years in the US. The US can make its visa calls (there are 1000's of other Indians who get visas rejected for much less)- it didn't impose an embargo on Gujarat. Secondly, we are in a more aware, accepting world and one in which India is in the global limelight - not the India of even the 80's. With due respect Sir, grow up - see what the new generation and the one after want - not a bunch of people with power trips as their only agenda setting direction for a divided India of tomorrow. Comparing it to Harijan massacres in the 60's? We've come a long way I hope but not if left to your views.

I am an Indian, a Hindu and v.proud of it

B Raman's article on: Modi's visa denial: Who did it?
by divya_jyoti on Mar 21, 2005 10:23 PM  Permalink

B Raman is one of the most insightful writers of India. His article on Modi is analytical, accurate as well as patriotic.

I am proud of him! His articles should be read 'religiously' by anyone who is sincere about their love for our motherland.

Vande Mataram!
