US has done it right. In BJP only Advani supports him as all in BJP feels he is a liability for BJP, for Gujarat, for the country. If the Gujarat riots were not there BMW, Many IT giants, many Industrial giants would just have walked in. If you remove the investments around SURAT that too due to ONGC which has to expand as it is already in SURAT,Essar as they already are in Surat, L&T as they are already in Surat, Reliance as they are already in SURAT, and some industry in Dahej near SURAT no industry has come to SURAT. The whole blame is on Modi & Advani who depends on him. Advani closes his eyes during daytime and says it is night. Poor man Advani. We all were BJP but no more.Even Keshubhai, Rana etc did not support them and boycotted the Gowrav yatra, it turned out to be a Vilap-yatra.
Does the US now intend to give Osama a diplomatic visa keeping in view of the close links with the Bush famiy? A democratic nation with a secular tradition is insulted while the US cosys up theocratic Mullahs of Saudi Arabia & military tinpot dicatatorships of Pakistan. Narendra Modi shall emerge as the Prime Minister of India in a short while. Let us see how the local lackeys of the US handle it then
A pat on the back for the US govt for staying firm on its decision. For people who argue that it is unfair because Modi doesn't have any cases against him and that he had been constitutionaly elected, let me tell you that Indian judiciary has a very poor record of convicting powerful persons. For example how many big politicians in the recent past have been convicted? It just shows that they are above the law and even more so if they are currently in power. And coming to the argument that he has been elected again, well the people who suffered were the muslims in Gujrat who are a minority and a minority can't keep a person from coming back to power while the majority(Hindus)is rooting for him. The NHRC should also be congratulated for their effort. Yes its a shame and insult to India but it is not because of US but in fact because of Mr Modi who was not bought to justice even when the whole world knew he had committed genocide. Failure of the police in stopping the Gujrat riots was because of the Govt's lack of will and ignorance of minorities in Gujrat. Okay, Bush also killed people but they were Iraqis, not Americans. Modi killed his own people so he is a bigger sinner.
The Human Rights organization that's based in the U.S accused U.S of eggregious assaults and the State Department denied everything. But they use the same organizations report to deny the visa.
Once again it shows the hypocrisy. Decisions like this make me feel it is the beginning of the end of U.S dominance.
What happened in Gujrat is regettable. But whatever happened,it's our country's concern. US is nobody to restrict Modi to US with this excuse and thus it's an insult to our country and constitution. What happened in Gujrat is sad and inhuman. But then what about Iraq? Forcefully Invading another country with wrong allegation and killling lakhs of innocent people and thus crippling and destroying the whole civilisation. What is this? Who is going to ban US?Who will punish Bush?
This is the best decision on external affiars in the whole Bush regime. Secular Indians should extend issue based support to the US within and outside India in this regard.
Regarding the US Visa for Mr. Modi, the Indian Government is trying so hard. There are so many people genuinly waiting to go to US, but the Indian govt. is not helping them. Do we need to be a politician to be backed by Indian govt.
I am saying so, because I have a GC and my Wife and Mother have been denied visa. It makes life difficult.
