i went through most of the comments, i am not afraid to find that we all blame our politicians. WHY??? do u think they are someone superior than you? u would be confused by this question but ur inner voice says NO. if no then why pretent? why blame the system. the system is corrupt, but it's coz including me & many others have bribed. learn to take the responsibility..coz if u fail to do so i cannot see why your SON?DAUGHTER failed to meet up your dreams. then also we will blame the system. if that is the case,belive me SYSTEM IS NOT GOING TO IMOROVE THE WAY IT IS EXECUTED TODAY, and sorry to say,your son/daughter has no future, switch off the bulb and sleep.who are they,someone who is strong because we are week. and let me tell you when it comes to me saying we are weak,it's not an individual,but the community as whole...coz the politicians are strong because of the filty other politicians and system administrator forming a corrupt community of themselves...and we are stranded single on the path. life is not difficult,it is always made difficult.if we know system is wrong,then dear go and VOTE at 1st instance and create a strong community against filth and show them police torch.
As the title describes... i mean the real dictionary meaning... including me as the mass population of our country. why do we consider America and the Americans to be better than us. ask urself in what ways are they better than us...i bet u would say.. they are better than us in terms of money. if money is something that makes u better.. i have a bitter understanding that we can never be better and all we can do is to be an under dog. 1000 times pakistan breach the treaty between india and pakistan and 1000 equal times india have lived up to the treaty. WHY ??? so protect oneself from international pressure? are we so very afraid that we can't feed ourself. truley we are self-reliant. our ability to cope the world sandards has degraded because we want money, and for that, the best is exported and the inferior is lavishly paid for. Its sad but true, India always had brave soldiers but at the same time had an incompetent political leadership.Right from 1947 Kashmir war to Kargil one can see brave soldiers sacrificing thier lives and incompetent and spineless politicians devoid of any character wasting thier sacrifices.I wish India had true leaders with charcter and courage just like our soldiers. I am pained to read about Haji Peer , Kargil, and the China war.Why was Haji Peer returned?what is UN? UN is a spineless body created and paid for by the US. Did the US care about the UN when it attacked Iraq? Did Pakistan care about UN resolutions to withdraw from POK , then why us after making such a huge human sacrifice.We can see examples of India releasing 90,000 Pakistani soldiers after treating them well and Pakistan torturing and killing ours . We can see our soldiers being sent to die in Sri Lanka for nothing fighting guerillas our illustrious politicians had trained and equipped.We can see a large number of our soldiers getting killed without going to war removing mines just because our great politicians did not get the mine clearing equipment in time. The question is how long will this continue?
A good article...but the argument that siachen does not hold any military advantage does not make any sense....If it doesnot have any advantage then why in the first place Indian army captured it....and why Pakistan is so eager to see withdrawl of indian troops from that region. Even if a part of our country does not hold any strategic advantage that does not mean we will give that away to enemy on a plater. Politicians are never trustworthy but it is the responsibility of Indian people to be aware of these issues and take on the streets in protest when ever some stupid decision is taken by any politician like the one present PM is contemplating.
There were many lies and hidden truths in Colonel's article. If it is just a show of patriotism then I will give him 9 out of 10. For being a writer he deserves 7/10 and for being a logical person, I give him 4/10. (He still has got some logical points, altough being a typical 'fauji' he did not get them). I wonder why colonel did not mention Sicahin invasion by indian army, bangladesh's invasion by indian army, 1965's invasion by indian army ??? He cannot see through the glass!!! It was not indian army who got kargal hill back, it was Clinton who forced Nawaz Shareef for a withdrawl. Well it was not strength of pakistan's army that it was holding that area, it was just the stretegic position that was favoring pak army. India even used air-force to push pak army back (there was no pak air force involved still two indian fighters were down and pilots arrespted in pakistan). I suggest people of india to see pakistan's perspective before blindly going for some one's stories.

i have served in siachen glacier for three years including duration of op vijay. the geopolitical and military implication of occupaton of siachen glacier is not fully understood/ expressed by the writer.it is true that indian army consumes a whopping 4 crores daily on maintainance only.but such an expenditure and sacrifice of life is justified in the sense that if we do not hold the present positions in the glacier then, where do we do it? should we fall back to partapur? then leh will be threatened.if leh goes then whole of eastern laddakh goes. then comes your 'pang' then goes your 'patsio' then goes your rohtang pass and one fine evening you will find pakis having coffee in manali. the present position in glacier restricts pakistani to launch any major offensive in that sector and other axis of possible invasion routes are presently adequately guarde by the indian armed forces thus denying any possibility of paki misadventure in that sector. apart from that strategical importance siachen is also a very potent buffer between any possible sino - paki nexus and malintentions in that sector.dear writer ask MO branch, they will tell you the commercial viability of the region.
Having gone through the entire Articles posted here, it is understood that we cannot anymore believe the devilish mind of Pakistan and its present and future Dictators. It is therefore worth for us to believe on our own stand and give full power to the Respected Indian Army to see that our INDIAN FLAG UNFURLED through out the Pakistani Border and ensure that no foreign men and material is damaged us in either way. To ensure that what is important is to keep Politics involvement away and respect our INDIAN ARMED FORCES AND DEFENCE PERSONNEL and let them do their prime responsibility. JAI HIND !!!
