Advani\' s comments : Jinnnha , Gandhi ,Congress Politics
by Dr . Shashi Damle on Jun 16, 2005 02:26 PM  Permalink

Basically I agree with Sai\'s analysis/comments.
Change is essense of life. And like a bee one should look for the honey and not the distasteful odour of a flower. However the historical record should be honestly recalled. In this connection ,I submit that the support by Congress under M.K.Gandhi,to the KHILAFAT Movement essentially brougth in Islam and Mulla,Moulawis in Politics. It may be recalled that Mr.Jinnha opposed Congress support for Khilafat Movement in Nagpur Congress.Mr.M.K.Gandhi was keen to marginalise Modernist,Nationalist Jinnha.
21st century is surly different. Revolutions in Tele communications,Computers --Software & Hardware and IT, Internet, Biotech & WTO have to be factored in while framing future policy frame work. Let us face it - for the last 58 years Pakistan has survived as a an independent nation except for its partition (on Cultural grounds)and creation of Bangala Desh in 1971.It is keen to maitain its Territorial Integrity. It has Nuclear Arms.So it is quite apt to remind Pakistan purpose of its existence and its programme as envisaged by Late Mr.Jinnah in August 1947.It so happens that this was done by visiting Indian Politician Shri Advani.

Neither Advani or Jinnha is or was God
by INDIAN on Jun 16, 2005 11:50 AM  Permalink

God/Bhagwan/Allha has created Universe / Brhama / Alam.. but the stupid selfish humans created all borders and countires and than states for thier own selfish reasons.. still in india we are creating new states ..Why? as more and selfish creature can have their own big pie.. if one work towards humanity, which is loved by the Allmighty, we all will be happy.. We cant keep on crying and complaining which is done by our forefathers and spoil our and our childrens future..We should learn from their mistakes.. And i think Advani has realsied the mistake he did by creating rift between communities for selfish reasons, and now he is trying to correct it..in the end Every human has to answer about His /Her dids to the creator..not to selfish sold out media..so if we follow our relegion correctly with out interference of so called pandits / maulans..we will be happy..

advani and jinnah
by sanjana on Jun 15, 2005 05:00 PM  Permalink

i kind of agree with whatever views has been put forth by mr.sivaswamy but i would also like to know that how does all this hype which has eventually become as a habit of political parties will help our nation to grow.
A learned person who is a part of the so called democratic country where as per the constitution has every right to speak as per their mind, has spoken something which he felt right and people have scandalised him.
I as a representative of the student's community and youth feels and finds even discussing these matters useless.newspapers proudly carry useless items containing mud-splashings of one political party to another on their front pages, which represent their nation's growth.is this what we are heading to.
i believe we should not even give any heed to whatever they say, once media will stop covering all this, they will themselves stop.as their only aim is to create a propoganda and create a space for them at the front page of the national newspaper without paying any buck, and which can satisfy their ego's that they re something in this country.

advani puts jinnah first
by s.skandan on Jun 15, 2005 04:04 PM  Permalink

If jinnah was secular, then advani would have preached secular politics in Sind rather than practising the same in India. Remember that pakistan's ideology is based on anti India and anti-hindu hatred. The day pakistanis feel that there is nothing between a hindu and a muslim, that day will be the last day of pakistan. the pakistani establishment will have none of it and hence the repeated whipping up of anti hindu and anti india sentiments. The muslim league toadies in 1940's were the stooges of the british and were encouraged to break indian unity at any cost.if jinnah had not done it, then somebody else would have done it. hence dont bring the theory that pakis were secular.

In the end
by Murali on Jun 15, 2005 01:29 PM  Permalink

The analogy of Valmiki and Ramayana is brought in. Valmiki became a sage from a thief and not vice versa and is looked upon for this. Ravan, who was a devotee of Shiva stooped to steal another man's wife.
Now, compare this with Jinnah. He started as a secular politician and though did not practice Islam, used fundementalist views to create Pakistan. His speeches were as vitriolic as Tagodia's, to put in a scribe's words who was covering those meetings.

The logic is perverse.....

A positive note
by suneesh stephen on Jun 14, 2005 09:15 PM  Permalink

What I think in this matter is that Advani only thought of bridging the gap between the countries which he already had made. That is the story of conversion of a religious fundamentalist to a more secular nature. Why do we blame him, after all he made agood man better.

dear Rediff.com
by sriharsha on Jun 14, 2005 08:39 PM  Permalink

Excuse me Rediff.com. Could u plz tell me why my comments are not been posted? I have posted my messages on various topics, but surprizingly, none of \'em have been posted. Is it because, they were all randomly rejected, or was i too close to the truth? Its no secret that most of my comments blasted the media for their biased views. Mayb that stuck a chord. If you have nothing to fear, i dare you to post my comments on atleast 2 articles. i.e Advani puts Jinna first, and Advani\'s jinna never existed. Thank you
