Mr.Raman, u r very much right in ur analysis that LK Advani has made a big blunder by praising Jinnah. It was not only the mistake of LK Advani but also that of his flatterers and sycophants who ill advised him to do this, god knows if these sycophants are indirectly on the payroll of ISI!!!!. One more thing I have observed in ur articles is that u use the title "Shri" to address Gujarat CM Narendra Modi, but you don't use that to address LK Advani. If ur intention is to maintain some dignity in your articles r to make it appear formal, then you probably have to use the title "Mr" r whatever is appropriate to address even Jinnah. I don't know if you are sarcastic when you address Modi with the title Shri. I hope I am true!!!
I suggest Mr. Raman to read the history books first and than comment on the subcontinent history. The partition of India was right or wrong is a different subject for discussion. But Mr. Raman must read at least Abul Kalam Azad books on Indian politics to get a clear picture about the people involved in the partition of India. A responsible journalist should do an honest analysis of history.
if u ask me, the point here is not whether jinnah was a hero or villain or something in between, but the context of the remarks made by LKA. jinnah is a hero to pakistani people. what advani is trying to tell them is this" this is what ur beloved hero had said about communality. if he is ur hero, why not follow what he preached to you". by criticizing advani, BJP and others have shown their childish immaturity. a politically mature party would will come up with a creative and positive response to even some thing that is bad, where as what advani did was not so bad after all. what has followed is really sad. hindus r not offended, as politicians r falsely claiming in order to achieve something that is not clear as yet. i fear it has something to do with the growing divide in BJP.
Dear Mr.Raman,Its unfortunate to the core that we are still debating on the Advani affair. But the very fact that u have commented so pathetically on the incident that provokes me to write in defense of Advani. There are a number of occassions where u say Jinnah was unsecular, he was the man for partition even though Gandhi wanted to do away with his idea.If Jinnah is called unsecular, then the same tag should be given to Nehru and ultimately Gandhi for supporting Nehru. Why didnt Nehru accept Jinnah? Can we not say the same thing to Nehru for exploiting Gandhi and whole of India for he wanted to be the Prime Minister? Can we not say the same thing about Gandhi who allowed himself to be a sitting duck for Nehru and ultimately support him instead of Jinnah? If only majority of the Indian masses had something in between their ears that they would think. We Indians tend to make always a wrong decision. This is one more instant of it.There is also one more angle to it.Can u tolerate somebody from Pak who comes to India, visits Rajghat and says Gandhi as unsecular? No,correct? You guys always like them to be called secular/visionary/fighting for the cause etc etc.Same there in Pak.So Raman,GROW UP!
>> They were an unfortunate occurrence even before Jinnah made its appearance in Indian politics.
Quite true, what who was responsible for those unfortunate occurances? You have already given the clean chit to HIndu Fundamentalists who were equally responsible for creating circumstances that lead to creation of Pakistan. Anyway Balram, your understanding of History and riots in particular is as poor as you think Advani's.
the feeling are same for him and he remains a communal and a person who only work for his position and purpose which serve the best interest of his political career. Advani (not ji), we are still not seen your real face. try to show it...and send us the message that r u really at RATH YATRA..... ?? RSS should take over BJP soon....
Any person who claims to have security expert in international relation should have seen what is not apparent at the heat of the moment. Unfortunately Raman is just an arm chair ctitic bereft of intellectual skills. He advised Advani not to go to Pakistan and it will be a big embarrassment for him and the country. But he came out as an acceptable leader in Pakistan, he changed his perception in one go. What Advani did is a master stroke. Actually he subtly told Pakistan, how much they strayed from the vision of Jinnah and the discussion should have kicked up in Pakistan. Moreover he did several thing like kick start the rennovation of Hindu temples in Pakistan, nobody has ever thought of being possible. He said Babri demolition is saddest day, he never said that there will not be any temple there. In one stroke he is become an acceptable leader in both the countries. Problem of the BJP is, it became a pariah after the election. Advani has the intellectual capacity, understanding and he knows the end game. He can take it out, if given a free hand. All allies in congress have no choice currently otherwise both (BJP and Congress) have same number of seats. NDA did marvoulous job
This article gave a great chance to know so many things that happened during the course of 50 years. I thank Raman for his nice judgement. And would like form him such articles true to the core.
It is most surprising how vetran leader make such grave mistake of not have any discussion on future face of BJP with in the party before making such comment. It appears that Pakistan such better strategy brain that Indian. First we have fall in trap of sending Huriyat Leadership to Pakistan secondly Mr Advani's visit which more holiday trip but falling into well laid out trap of Pakistanis. Leadership of all parties is non existaning and no one is bothered about India, This is very sorry state of affair.
