Communal truth

I agree to your views on riots taken place in our country. But I do not understand why instead of contemning all such events you are trying to some extent to justify the Gujarat riots as a casual event by highlighting some other carnages. I still believe that the media did not play their assigned role in the Gujarat for fear of vendetta by then BJP government.

RE:nice idea, but the statistics...

The Project Concept is very good and appreciated. There are many factors should take care on this project. This is totally different subject than the CIAL Project.
Very good Market study on Competition, trend, Choice of Aircraft, Making route selection other than gulf sectors. ( UK, USA,SINGAPORE ) Where the more Malayalees lives after gulf. Comparison of the price with better service. Compare to other foreign airline. It is very difficult to get above 70% of load due to heavy competition. If we make more than 70% load, that will be profitable. Average wide body twin jet will cost 8500 Usd P/H inculding all expense. Due to the fuel price in India, Maintenance, Spare parts, lease/Purchase rates, and other over head expense are too high. Due to that Low budget concept will win only on 80% of load factor,at least to 25% less in price war with Major operators. Profit margin can improve on part charter/ Full charter or the concept of logo sharing.

Nothing Official about it!!
by Prakash on Jun 02, 2005 03:04 PM  Permalink

Indian Official count figures have been so askewed from so long that they are taken with a pinch of salt or for propoganda purposes. They rely only on body count. Given the hordes that acted with State patronage on such a systematic basis and given that much of the Muslim populace lives in shelter camps with no proper account of missing persons and only considering body count as is custom for official figures have been and will remain a cruel joke on those who read about it. Definitely the riots post Godhra were the worst in Indian history. As proof of the that the culpable perpetrator modi was even denied a visa. Only anti-social criminals are not issued visas to travel to other countries.

However your statement of roasting of Kar sevaks has an interesting bit of news that you 'forgot' to add. It has been stated clearly that the riff-raff sangh parivaris ran riot at Godhra station, getting into altercations with hawkers from the minority community and even attempted to molest a muslim girl - the resulting S6 Sabarmati burning case was a spontaneous reaction to the RSS rabble misbehaviour and not A CONSPIRACY which the Fundamental press seems to be at such large pains to imply.

Ridiculous Posturing
by Rajshekhar Malaviya on Jun 02, 2005 02:53 PM  Permalink

I completely agree with the view that Congress and the Communists have no locus standi when it comes to adopting a holier-than-thou posture on riots.

But then, what gives Kanchan Gupta, and the Sangh Parivar the authority to defend Gujarat riots?

In my opinion, nothing.

The fact is that across the political spectrum, leaders have demonstrated that they have no respect for human life, be it Hindu, Muslim, or Sikh.

The dead become a statistic for political games, a convenient tool to beat your opponent with.

There are people on both sides who exhort the common people in the name of religion, and motivate them such that people are willing to kill.

People who criticise another religion have no right to call themselves practitioners of a religion. They must ask themselves the question: Am I a practitioner of this religion? Do I even know the religion, let alone practise it?

The list of such people would include the Imams and Ulemas, the Sants of SGPC, and the Togadias, Singhals, Kishores and Modis of the Sangh parivar.

These people must first go back to the basics, correctly understand their religion, and then engage in dialogue with people of the other faiths.

Communal truth secular lies
by MKN Kurup on Jun 02, 2005 02:53 PM  Permalink

The article of Kanchan Gupta is an eye opener to the general public. It is indeed a factual and realistic presentation against the pseudo-secularism being practised in India in the name of secularism mainly by those political parties whose only aim is to get votes even by creating hatred among different communities.
