Nothing Official about it!!
by Prakash on Jun 02, 2005 03:04 PM

Indian Official count figures have been so askewed from so long that they are taken with a pinch of salt or for propoganda purposes. They rely only on body count. Given the hordes that acted with State patronage on such a systematic basis and given that much of the Muslim populace lives in shelter camps with no proper account of missing persons and only considering body count as is custom for official figures have been and will remain a cruel joke on those who read about it. Definitely the riots post Godhra were the worst in Indian history. As proof of the that the culpable perpetrator modi was even denied a visa. Only anti-social criminals are not issued visas to travel to other countries.

However your statement of roasting of Kar sevaks has an interesting bit of news that you 'forgot' to add. It has been stated clearly that the riff-raff sangh parivaris ran riot at Godhra station, getting into altercations with hawkers from the minority community and even attempted to molest a muslim girl - the resulting S6 Sabarmati burning case was a spontaneous reaction to the RSS rabble misbehaviour and not A CONSPIRACY which the Fundamental press seems to be at such large pains to imply.
