Tiananmen Square episode is re-written by Chinese government by killing ethnic Tamils in Srilanka. China and Srilanka along with Pakistan (this "Terrorist breeding nation" sends troops to Srilanka to fight Tamils who fought for their denied rights by fanatic Srilanka - Sinhala governemnt. Pakistan's act is a joke of the century) deserves a warning and condemnation from global community.
I have been living in China now for more than 3 year and travelling across lenght and breadth of this nation ,everyday. The way China is growing it seems to be unstoppable...Consuming 70% of world cement/40% of world cement/30% of world Aluminium and so on....So many construction site going on every where..Exports going abrad from every corner of the nations. Interesting to know that Shanghai-Suzhou reigon itself exports more than total of the Indian export..not counting the exports from places like Yantian/Ningbo/Hongkong. China can be weakened now only by making the Chinese rich...So as China looses the advantage of Cheapest labour. Worst part is that Economy is fully dependent on Industry and agriculture has little role to play. With the fear of Anti Dumping actions from Europe and US many Chinese suppliers have already moved to places like Vietnam/Laos /Kambodia etc....What will happen to China if western block gets united to reject Chinese production is the most dreadful thought which comes to my mind!!!!!
An interesting article this. I agree fully that we need first to follow up what is happening inside China. In this respect, speaking as a reader, I find there shoudl be more contribution by our academics and media.
Another factor which Mr. Kak has pointed out is the growing naval presence. This is being neglected by our policy planners who in their obsession with Pakistan are losing sight that we are being slowly and quietly encircled by the fast growing Chinese Navy-Gwadar on the West and Yangoon on the East. Meanwhile it takes more than a decade for our ministers and bureaucrats to arm the navy approopriately for they are afraid to take decisions on one flimsy ground or the other.
