Currently I am in Sao Paulo, Brazil but being a 'Mumbaikar', i feel the same pain most Mumbaikars are feeling after all Mumbai is my city, our city which 'Never sleep never stop'. Mumbai had experienced a terrorist attacks and now this natural calamity but only Mumbai and its mumbaikar can handles such situations better than any other city and its citizens though we have poor infrastructure and does not have fasilities which which other big cities have in the world have. But we have courage, unsung heroes which no other city have in the world. This is not the time to blame governing bodies but to co-operate and be patient and mumbaikar knows this better than anyone else. I hope that the situation will improve at the earliest and I pray for the same.
as stated by one of the readers even i feel that mumbai will bounce back.even i have been in mumbai for most of my life and i am sure come what may mumbai will bounce back. right now i am in london and with the current situation in the city i always feel more and more proud to be a mumbaikar...mumbai has never given up and will never give up thts the spirit of mumbai. and even i feel that its not the time to blame anybody but be one and support those very few who r helping others in wht ever we can. my heart and prayer goes out to every mumbaikar. shri balasaheb thackrey would be feeling jealous due to rains bcos now even rains can call for mumbai bandh. at the end i will just like to say tht mumbai has always been on the run and no rain can paralyse it.....proud to be a mumbaikar
Mumbai will bounce back..... Mumbai has never say die attitude......... etc etc etc. I have started wondering whether it is a Boon to Mumbai or the main problem of Mumbai.
Mumbaikars have been taken for granted. Come what may, the City shall bounce back. But I think now its high time that we Mumbaikars stand up together and ask for what we rightfully deserve, "Live a life like a Human and not like Animals".
We had enough of these overcrowded trains, maddening traffic, killing pollution and life worse than animals. Please Mumbai, wake up atleast now and ask for your rights. Leave aside Caste, Religion and Political Difference. These things shall yeild nothing to us and our next generations.
Simply blaming BMC, Politicans will not help. If really we want to change Mumbai, we all should unite and demand our rights. I think that would make New Delhi and Mantralaya realise the problems that we have been facing for so many years silently.
Geoffrey Boycott recently said we can send a man to moon but no get a white ball that can last 40 years, similarly we can build nukes but not a disaster management plan. what is even more scaring is this is treated as mumbai's problem not a national problem, after all isnt mumbai the place which brings bread and butter to over 3 crore indians. i am travelling to mumbai within 36 hours and last thing i want is to land in a different city. finally many thanx rediff and all you people. long live the spirit of mumbai
First of all, credit for surviving such calamities goes to Mumbaikar's spirit. The great pain Mumbaikar takes in a day whether its these rainy days or normal day is really great. Great job and hope everything will be normal in some days.
I never understood Mr. Dhiraj Kumar's views..He himself suggest that there are consumers in Bihar and UP and Mumbai should never cry for their share though they are paying 40% of taxes...Is this not funny you yourself bring regions into picture and then go on saying that Mumbai should not be having regionalistic ideology.
Who are Mumbaikars they are not god that they will pay money and will not get anything in back. Kolkatta and Delhi subways are running on profits of Mumbai subruban railways and please go from Germany to Mumbai in rush hours and then see the pains taken by Mumbai people...then you will not dare to write you have written. I am giving just one example but there are many things which Mumbai need but never got and Mumbai's and Mumbaikar's attitude of "Chalta Hai" is creating problem. There is no point abusing goverment they are never for people. So with these recent incidents, Mumbaikar's please wake up. Fight for your rights.
See for this prob i would say the govt is responsible, friends in media i saw the BCC comissioner answers the water flow is more than expected , what is that he mean to say, not all the time just looting the money let them do the needul to the people. it cant be digested people stuck in rain for hrs togather. Very sympathetic, Arey they politicicans and govt has gone rubbish and old.
it is all the politicians mistakes and recklessness in handling the public problems. they ignore ignore and ignore and ultimately speak out negotiable words to satify how far this can be reckoned.
Cant help the poor people under the hands of such hastly rulers
i sure mumbai will come out of this crisis and will show evrybody even nature cannot keep down mumbai for long. Mumbai's people are stout hearted and will not bow down. I am currently in the US but i have lived in mumbai for most of the life and have been here(US) for few months but still i feel confident that mumbai is bound to be victorious show why it is the best city in the world.
i am originally from mumbai or u can say a Mumbaikar. It has been very sad to hear about the current situations in mumbai but then everything good or bad is not for ever. i think in these kind of situations people should come toghther and fight for this disaster. As usual the goverments arent doing anything, right? no the goverments cannot be held responsible.Who had expected that? Well we can give credit to the weather department for performing its effective functions like not altering the cities but even if it had, no one would have believed it because of its past records. well all that happened was to happen but what we should learn from these experiance is that we should always be prepared for the worse. as we can show the world that even we have a better stand between them regardless any situations. YES THE WOUND IS DEEP BUT REMEMBER IT CAN BE CURED.!
Hi friends, I am located at El Paso in Texas,US. I miss Mumbai in every moment I live. I do miss the Monsoons especially. This extreme face of monsoons is really scary though. Nevertheless, I do agree with most of the comments on this bulletinboard that Mumbaikars know how to unite and face the most difficult situations.I sincerely wish, i was there to help in my small way, but if not, atleast, I'll definitely pray as well as urge others to pray for a quicker re-settling of Mumbai. regards, tushar.
