thats really great. Unfortunately, we r all gonna ay we gotta do this to the public services, we gotta do that to the emergency services, but next time when tragedy strikes we still wudn't be in a relatively better position to help ourselves, our city that is. that is sad. Many people have been saying since yesterday, "my priorities just changed and i realised a lot more abt nature". But when the water dries and the grass dries to hay, all this will only remain a funny story. hope not.
In times of adversity, Mubaikars have shown that they are made of steely nerves. The financial capital India has always been the facet of mini-India, with virtually someone from every part of India reside in. The localites who helped the people stranded in the bus need to be rightly applauded, but again, it serves as another shocking reminder of the state of emergency services that the best of our cities are equipped with. Wake up authorities, dont risk commoners lives....With the kind of riot history Mumbai has, we need more infrastructure and skilled workers to handle the situation in the wake of emergency alarms..
There are'nt enough words to commend the efforts...nay... the spirit of the mumbaikars....mind you all classes..strata alike. Even after the depressing sight of my car totally submerged in water.....the walk back home raised my spirits to an all time high....
BUT .... its a pity that only times like these bring out any signs of humanity or character in this city!
Its a sorry state of affairs at the Fire Department. They only want a govt. job with a regular salary and do no work. Typical of all the govt. organisations in Mumbai.
All the fire deaprtment personel should hang their heads in shame.
The people who helped in that rescue should be awarded a bravery award along with a cash compensation for the work they did. They risked their own lifes to save others. The money for the cash award should be deducted from the salaries of the fire department.
Cheers to the brave people and shame to the fire deprtment.
A good opportunity for our so called city father's or gaurdians to make more money at the cost of the people so that they can earn a few more curses of the people. What better time to make more money at the cost of peoples lives than now when funds will flow in from all over the world when the papers etc appeal. Thanks to the so called ministers the municipal corporations of Mumbai and Pune, their greed is much greater than the needs of doing any service to the people who have brought them to power.
Currently in US for work, as i read about the merciless thrashing of mumbai's rains back home in India, my heart goes out to the local heroes who saved the lives of the people in a bus in Kurla. Mani, from rediff and the rest who helped this operation, all i can say is 'Kudos to you', who have still managed to keep humane hopes alive in Mumbai during such nature's furies !! Hats off to each one of you !
