Though I am no longer with ONGC, hearing this piece of news was a shock. It's a tragic day for ONGC as well as India. My heartfelt condolences to the relatives of the people who lost their lives in this incident. In retrospect, ONGC should have a detailed enquiry on how this happened and try to address the issues so that such incidents are not repeated elsewhere in the company.
Politicans making Aerial surveys is a joke. I think its done more to enjoy a ride in the plane considering indians dont fly as much as americans do. Its a waste of money and achieves nothing.
Its sad that ONGC says "Casualties were minimum" as though they planned for a few losses of life. Its tragic how people talk about lives as though they were cheap. I wish to hear these people say the same thing when their own son or father dies under such tragic situations.
Where can I find the names of victims in this incident? Have they been published yet? I am in US presently and have a couple of friends working with ONGC.
No one can ever accuse Indians of having any concept of or concern for 'safety'. So trains will continually collide and kill countless and fires will keep on destroying oil platforms and fighter aircrafts will keep on killing pilots at rates an enemy could not ever hope to match.
These kinds of accidents due occure during the operations but the managment/government should keep ready the " CRISIS MANAGMENT" ready to take up nay challange.
