Nepal's India policy is completely collapsed under the supervision of irresposible Govt of our country. They are still unable to realise the threat of china and it's policy. We know all the wrong doings of militancy as well as Naxalitie problems are indirectly engineered by China but we are purchasing chinees goods shamelessly. The Govt. of our country is just watching it. They are not taking necessary steps to make infrastructure to manufacture those on our own. Actually corruption has reached its the highest level in every direction in our country. They don't think about the future of our country, they just accumulate power. India as a nation will be lost forever if necessary action is not taken. Our government is compromising everything with the militants. The decision of Nepal King is completely justified they are doing what they had to do at the very begining, but our keralite Communists are very angry. They don't get enough heat of militancy so that they can't smell it. The communist don't bother about the country they bother only about their party and its policy. Nepal's internal problem is her own problem, so why they are protesting here in India??
Given the treacherous nature of the Chinese Imperialists, and the past history recently, I would like to sound caution on part of the establishment that rules India.
It would be unbearable to be subjected to another imperialist rule, after the hard earned independence.
It was not the Ahimsa, it was the political and economic cost of battling the freedom fighters that forced the British to vacate India. However they did not leave without sowing seeds of hatred and poisoning sister communities.
Stop fearing china unnecessarily....believe in your Armed forces...China will be finished if they try to go for "Unfinshed Buisness Of 1962"... Lt. Chintan Gupta
Unless we the COMMANS and so called INTELLECTUALS open our eyes, DEVIATE FROM OUR COCOONED LIVES and start looking at the Parallels between Elimination of Tibet as an Independent state and Nepal on the way to elimination nothing can be done.We need to wring the arms of the people in power and ask for actions.Ofcourse before its too late. The Dragon actually is too mighty and we can't afford to keep sleeping.
The author's argument sounds cogent and supported by a few facts and some speculation like all such thories are. But on the downside so was senator Macarthy's arguments in the anti communist frenzy.
In this age of economic advancement, control over territory and land dont hold as much meaning as it did in the age of Tun Zsu. But still control of barren mountain lands means a lot for the security of India's borders. As Piloo Mody famously pointed out to Nehru's logic that not even a blade of grass grew on the disputed lands "Not even a single hair grows on your head ! That doesnt make it worthless !"
Not to detract from the fact that India's foreign policy is floundering in the morass of inactivity and complete lack of vision and all previous congress governments have only made it worse. Supporting Arafat against the Israelis, Nasser against the West during the Suez crisis, Tito against Nato, Prabakaran against Premadasa and so on. Our history is littered with the wrong choices time after time. So to expect the current government to suddenly find enlightenment is a tall order.
Excellent and well studied article. One request. Rediffmail is already doing a patriot's job by publishing it. They should also send a copy to The Prime Minister and Home Minister, since they might not be reading these online articles.
PLEASE SEND IT TO THEM. They need to read this, if they have forgotten all this history. Its a matter of life for 100 Crore odd indians. Because None of the indians would like to be ruled by China.
