BJP and RSS
by ravi on Dec 28, 2005 05:11 PM  Permalink

It is wrong to label Mr Deolekar as hawk. He has articulated the vision which powered his generation as a cause to dedicate their entire life.
We are no longer in the same time zone. The major ideologies that dominated world politics are in terminal decline and realism has once again come to the fore.Old religions that once dictated a way of life to its adherents are also fighting a losing battle. They will have to vacate the public space and move to the individual space of belief. But, this process is fraught with bloodshed and anguish.
Mr Deolekar looks wistfully at the passing away of an era.
His prescription however needs to be revisited and a new vision to infuse a confused party and ridding it of these contradictions is very desirable

Hindu Nationalism
by E Ramaswamy on Dec 28, 2005 04:23 PM  Permalink

I fully agree with Sri Deolekar that there is an ideological decline in BJP / RSS & the original principle of Hindu nationalism has been forgotten. It cant be denied that minus the Hindu religion there will be no India & the pseudo-secularists are also fully aware of this though they claim that it is a common culture of 'love & kindness' that binds the people together - as if cultures of other countries are wanting in 'love and kindness'. The RSS should focus on training the modern youth in countering terrorism & other dangers rather than waste time on Ayodhya. All Hindus should read about Chhatrapati Shivaji & Guru Govind Singh, who relentlessly fought a far more powerful tyrant & religious fanatic.

REG : Memoirs of a Hindutva hawk

Well if Advani and Vajpayee are to be held responsible for decline of BJP then whome would you consider responsible for rise of the same?

I think it is RSS failing the BJP.Loosing or winning is the part of political process and no party is permanently wedded to power in democracy. It is required to have dispassionate analysis rather then spit fire or venom on your leaders.

I think it is RSS mishandling post election which has been creating problems for the party day in and day out.

People having ego problems have not spared these twin leaders and inflicted countless wounds on them and harmed party interest.

RSS chief publically raised leadership questions suggesting vacuum in communication in the parivar.Advani had been asked to " DOOB MARO IN PANI"by Ashok Singhal openly.

We did not learn this discipline in the the RSS.Let tyhe Parivar and party sort out all issues away from media and public glare. It is still not too late.

Dear Salvi,

I really got very surprised why the pseudo-secular people like you start to cry when anybody try to talk about \"Hindu\" or \"Hindutva\".You guys start to blame on that as being communal. Why this kind of double standards. Why don\'t you become this much restless when anybody talk about minorities.Has this now become an offence being a hindu in the \"Hindustan\".If this kind of environment bugs you ,you are free to leave this country and go anywhere, wherever you like to.

Issues of BJP & RSS
by Selvi on Dec 28, 2005 12:16 PM  Permalink

Dear Rediff.com,

Are you the internet media for the RSS? Actually you concentrate more on BJP & RSS rather than our National Interest. Rediff being the one the most recognized website in India should not loose its balance as a secular one

true thinking
by s.p.pandey on Dec 28, 2005 10:57 AM  Permalink

At prsent Hindu again in thinking that all the things which happen in last one and half decade regarding the well wishing or goodwill of hindu are totaly a election stunt to grap the vote of hindu and sworn as indian politics ruler.
one simple example of this thinking is that RSS and its native org erlier said on every moment thaty we are the SEVAK ,but the new thinking now a day amoung the BJP leader that they are not sevek they are "satta ke raja",this shows how we are mixing with other like politicalparties that they are ruler not sevek for publuic although our constitution say that "every politision or govt servent is truely servent for Indian public"his services are "truely service"not "ruling of kingdom".

Nostalgic
by Srini on Dec 28, 2005 10:46 AM  Permalink

Hi

The interview is aptly timed and nostalgic for people like us.

Though I'm just 31 years old, I've shared the rise and fall of BJP with my father - another senior national BJP leader.

I and my friends have been staunch supporters of BJP. We share the values and aspirations behind the formation of BJP.

What I see of BJP today is total annihilation of what the party stands for - the party with a difference.

I feel that there is a need to build a new party with a broader charter that is realistic to the changing environment yet retaining the values of simple living with high thinking.

I can almost sense whats going to come next.

Regards

Srini

No new idea can ever germinate in an align soil! Excellent ideals have failed only because systematic changes required all around never were attended to.

Memoirs of a Hindutva Hawk

It is sad to read the memoirs of the Hindutva.

The currenrt leaders should heed the saner voice of the old leaders like Mr. Deolekar. Ye, mistakes have been amde but these shoudl not dter the onward march of the party. Instead of lamenting on them, the top leaders of the BJP owe it to themselves, the party and the country to rejuveneate the party or else leave quietly!
