It is wrong to label Mr Deolekar as hawk. He has articulated the vision which powered his generation as a cause to dedicate their entire life. We are no longer in the same time zone. The major ideologies that dominated world politics are in terminal decline and realism has once again come to the fore.Old religions that once dictated a way of life to its adherents are also fighting a losing battle. They will have to vacate the public space and move to the individual space of belief. But, this process is fraught with bloodshed and anguish. Mr Deolekar looks wistfully at the passing away of an era. His prescription however needs to be revisited and a new vision to infuse a confused party and ridding it of these contradictions is very desirable
