i think the government should concentrate more on development field in unauthorised colonies like construction of new roads and parks and maintenance of older ones ,providing better electricity and water facilities rather than demolishing the already established colonies.
NOW LAL DORA: Lal dora was marked in 1908. And thereafter extended in few villages. It was meant for the villagers who cultivated their land/lived there in village. Outside lal dora all land is agriculture land (See it from the point of view of legality, all properties constructed [ see previous post to know how these were constructed] outside lal dora are/were unauthorised. they were meant for agricultural use only except those acquired by DDA)..Now, imagine about people living in lal dora -- Will they go 10-20 KM for buying their daily use items to DDA shops.Do villagers do not require a commercial space. Are they Dogs??? No No NO . Society needs commercial centres within residential centres. ) Why DDA carves out commercial plots in residential colonies, although much less then required). Then why all these worry for laldora commercial activities. You tell them about the problem like parking etc. they will solve it. Otherwise hang the govt officials responsible for it. OR make a policy that is practicably feasible.
The ongoing demolition drive as per court orders are mere a joke on the public and there is no logics at all from any side. Even court orders on this issue is also illegal, immoral and violations of all human rights (see the particular timings of the demolition - sometimes it is on when huge cold wave is in entire country and sometimes in heavy raining times) since court does not see the real culprits on this issue. Instead of ordering demolitions of the illegal buildings why COURTS are not ordering arrestwarrants against the builders who built these illegal constructions and gave to the people who are residing till long time and paying taxes to Govt. as per Govt. rules. So it is not digested if COURTS are from time to time only orders to demolish the structures which is a waste of public money and instead of this, COURTS should initiate actions against the builders and order to return the money they collected from the people who purchased these flats/buildings as well as forefeit their properties in case of not paying the money to the purchasers and give proper punishments to these builders who constructed the illegal strctutres. Otherwise public doubts about builder-courts nexus
To demolish the unauthorised construction, in principle is correct. But this is no solution to the endemic problem of this proportion. Those who are in need of the accomodation will continue to do so in future also. MCD which is responsible to let it not happen connives and oversees such unauthorised construction of hefty payments. In this way at least 10% of regular colonies have unauthorised constructions. And 50% of all delhi land is under encroachment by way of JJ clusters or by land mafia is with the active and willing co-operation of MCD,DDA & Delhi Police. All these three have theblessings of the politicians of all parties whosoever is in power. The illegal gratification is collected by these agencies and passed on to the superiors and politicians in power. On the way up the money also percolates in a good measures to the collectors themselves. It is a huge racket running into hundreds of crores every year in Delhi alone. Only time will tell if the judgment of the Hight Court will stem the rot. God save the common man
