So whose mistake is this that people tend to interpret the Holy Quran in which ever way they see fit OR benefit them. Please pardon me for my ignorance, was it not the duty of Mohammed (pbuh) to keep all the chapter of Holy Quran in safe custody, instead he left it to be done by other Muslims (who must have been converted from Jews or other pagans by the force of sword) after his death, even though Mohammed (pbuh) new very clearly that he was the last prophet & there would not be any more prophets after him to rectify any mistakes in the Holy Quran. And the conflicting writings in Holy Quran could be the handy work of some Muslims who secretly carry hatred against Islam. And if it is true that nobody can change any thing in The Holy Quran, then why was it written in Arabic or contradicting manner or in riddles to bring confusion in peoples lives who read it, as it is visible by looking at the different sects in Islam itself. So, once again please pardon me for my ignorance, & enlighten me.

Completely agree.
If its evident that there are things that are being misinterpreted leading to such big problems, then its obvious that scholars should come ahead & make a simplification/clarify the verses, so that there can be a lasting solution.
As far as greivances go, all have them, there are innnumerable instances within India itself. Most recent ones being partition, ethnic cleansing targeting kashmiri pandits in the valley. Political selfishness of a few morons is reason for such incidents more than any religion, but politics has unfortunately always been dependent on religion for mobilising masses & making sure that religion leaves no chance to allow it could be a solution.

Dear renjith, there r no mistakes or conflicting writings in Quran, and it has not been written in contradicting manner or in riddles either. in fact, we dont need any of these for anyone to misinterpret a religious teaching. for example, take the case of caste system in hinduism. even though the vedas had outlined the castes as a mere indication of one's profession, in the end it became a means for social discrimination and a lot of other cruelties. same way, things that r fairly clear in Quran have been mis-stated and taken out of context, in order to lure people who lack the intellect to interpret the teachings themselves. As for Arabic as the chosen language, i am sure we didnt have a universal language in the 6th century (do we have it now either???), but translations of the Quran have been available for a long time now. Talking about safe custody, i wud rather say it is in the safest custody. The reason??? it remains the only religious scripture that is known for sure as unadulterated throughout its entire history of existence.
