by Jas on Dec 18, 2008 06:05 PM  Permalink

5000 Plus people murdered, and ZERO punishment.

And we behave as if this holocoust never happened? We must be a real blood thirsty society.

How many people does it take to murder 5000 people, the number should run in LAKHS.

Collective shame on us.

Nanavati Report-Kamal Nath;s involvement in 1984 riots
by s.Ramaswamy on Aug 10, 2005 11:38 AM  Permalink

From what appears the finding of the learned Judge ia justified. It is possible that Kamal nath did go there to enquire of what was happening and found that he could not cintrol the mob and left
Well as Kamal nath might have been innocent of the crime he is being accused of ,the role played by other 'leaders' of the party that was so vociferous when Narendra Modi was in the hot seat can not be described as social service. If Justice Nanavati has to be taken seriously in the case of Kamal Nath,so should he be taken seriously un respect of his finding regarding the role of Tytler.Let the Congress not take some eye wash of an action against Tytler and try to wriggle out

The Trial of Kamal Nath
by J.ganapathy on Aug 10, 2005 11:00 AM  Permalink

Truth will never comeout in this country as long as politicians are involved. It is shameful that even when a sikh is at the helm of affairs as the Prime Minister of the country he is speechless and cannot bring to books people instigating communal riots. He is no exception to the present politics played by the political parties irrespective of their banner. The Only Common Ideology they have is "POWER".the communists want to enjoy power without soiling their hands.THE MINIMUM COMMON PROGRAMME IS "POWER".

Looking for prey
by frankly on Aug 09, 2005 11:52 PM  Permalink

Having gone through the contrived observation made on report, it seems attempt are being made to foment the anti ghandhi family feeling, though family was the worst sufferer of the tragedy, and the great lady has to pay the price of her life for the sake of the country. Now the Nanavati report is being made as an tool to achieve sinister political end by the parties playing the politics of divison. It is not surprising that anybody who is near to party is being made scapegoat.
These people may be doing great service for thenselves but enormous disservice for the fabrics of India

trial of kamal nath
by keer on Aug 09, 2005 08:11 PM  Permalink

I think all this is humburg and absurd. Now is the right time for the people to owe the responsibility and bow down for the mistakes they have done its a shame that they r sitting there to rule the people where infact they donot have the moral right to rule the our country. These people have to be brought to justice otherwise there will be no hope that a common man will get justice forever in this country. I think this is enough talk of changing things without any action. If they r sincerely out to get the culprits then they better do it otherwise stop all the eyewash and just get on with ur old ways. I t really bleeds me whenever i go thru these new items, they donot seem to make much of an impact about bringing in enquiry commissions and they not bringing culprits to justice, its just a waste to time, money and unecessary drain on peoples emotion. And i do like to blame the people cos they have got very short term memory of forgetting things, lets see how many people will persist the cry of changing thing. Iam starting my countdown, i will see how many mumbaites remember the natural calamity , lack of action by the authorites and punish them for the same. time is running out bros

My views on 1984 riots and the following (in)justice
by kulmohan on Aug 09, 2005 07:55 PM  Permalink

It has been twenty years since the 1984 riots which saw thousands of innocent men being killed and thousands of families plunged into miseries and yet the killers have loomed large and free ever since. There have been nine enquiry commissions that sat to enquire into the riots and the government has discarded the finding reports of all of those commissions. In doing so the government has aggravated the pain and suffering of the helpless widows and families affected because of the riots. The big question we all need to ask is What is stopping the justice to come through.

The answer that comes to my mind is the mindset of differentiating the justice meant for minority from that meant for the majority.

Unfortunately, India with all its diversity is a natural victim to unhealthy divisions of a big majority community and many small minority communities among its population. A Majority by definition always enjoys the advantage of numbers. It is always stronger and having greater control of things vis-à-vis a minority, which by virtue of its smaller numbers is a weak entity. As a rule, it is always unto the Stronger to see that they do justice to those weaker to them

So whilst
