Move on.
by Kailash Das on Apr 08, 2005 03:37 PM  Permalink

Mr. Arpi, you seems to be prisoner of history. History doesn't remain static and present 'ground realities' should be respected. War and violence can not be endlessly carried out. Today Germany and France have strong alliance, which was unimaginable 50 years ago. Even pragmatic Nixon broke ice in relationship with China. No harm in exploring peaceful settlement which doesn't mean we are lowering our guards.

THE LOSS OF MUZAFFARABAD
by Indrajit Roy on Apr 08, 2005 02:08 PM  Permalink

It seems that Muzaffarabad, Mirpur and Baltistan were lost to Kashmir for the same reason that west Punjab, Sind and east Bengal were lost to India: Sheikh Abdulla's National Conference had noinfluence in these far-flung reasons, and the Indian Congress had limited electoral influence in northwestern and eastern India. besides, all (except maybe Lahore district) were fiscally deficit regions. so, why take the bother- never the trauma that such pragmatism has had over generations of South Asians.

Srinagar - Muzafarabad Bus
by Seemant Pandita on Apr 08, 2005 02:05 PM  Permalink

Why is so much fuss abt this bus. Why we Indians always try to be friendly and then get backstabed by PAK or Kashmiri Militants. I m a kashmiri Hindu & I know for fact that 99.99% of Kashmiri Muslims have no relations in POK. Why is indian media portraying it as emotional 'Milan'.Why should somebody marry in Enemy Country. Then they r also Enemies of India.
Why we painted our bus white while PAK painted their bus in AZAD Kashmir Flag (Green & Gold). Why we replaced tricolour with White Flag on so called 'Aman Bridge' on request of PAK.
Our Govt. & Media is misleading people on Kashmir, and they want to take initiatives on useless things.
