You have a point. However the people in general want a change from the current regime that has caused great pain to the whole nation.Let us see as to how much of that will lead to votes in favour of first non white candidate who may well feel the heat on another dicy angle from Republicans?

Obama is not yet the president!!!
by Rahul VA on Jun 04, 2008 02:23 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I have no idea why our media gives so much coverage for the contest for the democrat candidature.

Obama is not yet the president has to compete with Republican John McCain in November's election to choose a successor to President George W. Bush.

But all this publicity is only relevant if u r in US. In india we have more serious matters to worry about

You are right to an extent as the Anglo-Saxon entity of the US of A is well protected and secure and one president cannot make much of a dent to the structure and policies sculpted over centuries, but all the same the elections does invoke interest since, lets face it, being the governing world power, the course of the immediate future would get influenced by what a presidential candidate stands for. If US suffers flatulence, the world has to pinch their nose.

That is why I have written "going to be the President" since he is already Presidential Candidate there is no need for that 'be'. Whoever may the Democractic candidate will become the President of US this time, sure.

How can you be so sure when even the Americans are not so sure? Why it is heartening to you if a black becomes American President? As far India is concerned it makes no difference whether a black or white become US President. In fact a known devil is better than an unknown one.
