Respect the regions - Respect India
by yudhajit tornekar on Sep 09, 2008 03:49 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

India is not a separate state or an Island,it is an integration of different regions called states, segregated on the basis of language so as to promote unity in diversity to preserve the cultures and traditions of various regional and lingual backgrounds. It is foolishness if any regional leader is not concerned about preserving their language or tradition.Irrespective of the language n religion,it is mandatory for every individual to practice and speak the local language.Though,I am a Maharashtrian born n brought up in Hyderabad,I respect telugu and can read, write and speak it fluently.I never try to dilute the telugu customs n traditions. But u can find a lot of hindi prevails in Hyderabad in day to day use-it is accepted because it is OUR national language n we need to respect it,with out hurting the feelings of the local people.I hope the message is clear-'When ur in Rome,U ought to,do as romans do n speak n respect them' else U deserve to be kicked on ur a** and driven out...

Let us be sensitive to the local culture
by Kande Pohe on Sep 09, 2008 03:47 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Yes, Hindi is our national language and we can speak our own language anywhere in democratic nation such as India. Most NRIs in USA celebrate American festivals in USA. Most NRI kids speak American English in USA besides their own language. I am myself a Gujarati born and brought in Maharashtra. I do speak in Marathi in addition to Gujarati, Hindi and English. It is important to respect local culture and learn local language wherever we settle.

It does not mean that majority speaks hindi so that it is national language. Hoy many people and how many days you peopole will jump on this. If that is the case. You have to diclare this is Sanadhan Country (Hindu country) Diclare this first. Then you are Hindi man. Do you have the intention to diclare this?

Who is Raj Thack...
by Guest on Sep 09, 2008 03:09 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I wonder why a goon like Raj is not behind bars yet. I neither speak Marathi nor do I know Hindi that well. A Hyderabadi from birth, I feel it's shame on the Maharashtra govt and the Indian judiciary to let this goon reamin free - It's a shame on democracy. I wish all the Indians would react in a matured way. Raj is spoiling the name of Maharashtra like Mamata is spoiling the name of West Bengal. Are these leaders ???? I pity India has such selfish leaders who could stoop so low in the name of politics.

Jai Bharath!

you are perfectly right.the hindi film celebreties are the biggest hypocrites-they earn their bread from hindi and speak english as it were their mother tongue.why should one have any objection if anybody speaks hindi because it is the national language of India,Lingua Franca of India,his/her native language,his/her mother tongue. No one should try to offend other person on account of his language ,reliogion or native place. I fully support Jaya.
