Dont talk nonsense. The largest bank of Hogenakkal is inside TN and you have to travel 150 kms inland TN via Dharmapuri, Pennagaram to reach Hogenakkal. This place is being developed by Tamilnadu Tourism since independence. Only illicit liquor is sold in the smaller bank of Karnataka. If people are fools, you will even claim Kashmir or Thailand. Cauvery flows in ~100 mile maturally and additionally 75 mile in KN govt made artificial channel whereas it flows in ~320 miles naturally in Tamilnadu. A river is a common asset and nobody can have claim over it.

Don't you people have respect for ur fellow Indians. Don't blame the whole Karnataka people. It is the work of some useless people. Most of the people in Karnataka want this to be solved peacefully. It is the dirty work of politicians that is preventing this and creating ill feeling b/w fellow Indians. If you people who blame each other for this and cant see the dirty work of those politicians then u r a fool. It is a simple fact here. The issue which has been there for 30 or 40 years and both the state politicians have not solved it sensibly. Why? If any time there is a soln. Some or the other politician has created a problem. Then it clearly indicates that they want to use this issue for their political gains. They don't want to do good for people. Thats why I totally agree with Rajnikanth who said that the persons who are creating disturbances and hurting innocent people should be kicked. What is wrong in that? And why he should apolozise?
BANGALORE: Tamil channels will not be blacked out over the Hogenakkal controversy, even as theatres in Bangalore did not screen Tamil films.
Cable operators under the Karnataka Cable Television Chamber of Commerce, after a mammoth four-hour discussion on Wednesday, managed to convince most Kannada organisations that blacking out channels would not be in the interests of "peace and harmony" in the state.
After the meeting of cable operators and activists ended at 4.30 pm, an internal meeting after 6 pm finalised the earlier decision not to block Tamil channels. Amrith Kumar, representing cable operators, told TOI that the channels had nothing to do with "politics" and operators did not want to trouble viewers and the public. "Viewers are not responsible for what Tamil Nadu CM M Karunanidhi said about Hogenakkal. Karunanidhi has politicised the issue and has made remarks for political gain. We should not react to that by targeting people."
Kumar said cable operators will, however, block Tamil channels on the day of the proposed bandh , April 10 or 12, from morning to evening. Operators have agreed also to block Kalaiganar channel indefinitely "as it is the personal channel of Karunanidhi".
The decision of cable operators was supported by Kannada Gadi Rakshana Vedike, Kannada Sene and Jai Karnataka.
Karnataka Rakshana Vedike has said it would try to talk to the cable operators again to block Tamil channels. "If talks fail, we will protest in front of the operators%u2019 offices

Karnataka Rakshana Vedike has said it would try to talk to the cable operators again to block Tamil channels. "If talks fail, we will protest in front of the operators%u2019 offices. And even if that fails, we will think of ways to get the channels blocked," KRV activist Anjanappa said. The operators clarified no Kannada channels had been blocked in Tamil Nadu. "We spoke to our counterparts in Chennai and they have told us clearly that no Kannada channels have been blocked," Kumar said.
This is such a problem for someone who has moved to a different state. Amitabh is being accused for not doing enough for Mumbai and too much for UP, whereas Rajni if he stood up for tamilians gets critisized by the state where he used to live

Girish Even am a Tamilian . I but just other way round I was raised in Karnataka. I guess as a country and as constitution says its our due duty to respect the local culture. And if Rajanikant has not done any mistake acc to you then , can you ask we all tamilians to just leave eating, drinking , sleeping just with Rajni's posters. As per my observation since my childhood, Kannadigas are far more soft, peaceful people. It totally political game being played by TN ...

Agreed Dhanyasi.. ppl are soft.. but it's just ppl's nature.. not just Kannadiga's or Tamils.. I was brought up in Chennai.. saw soft and crooked Tamils.. can't generalise, though.. Agreed that you like Karnataka and we love them too. But what did Rajni do wrong? He has all the right to talk as an Indian citizen. If he is wrong and what he spoke was illegal, he should be arrested.. The law didn't think it was illegal.. why do some ppl do? "political game"??? we need to ask Karnataka BJP about that..

Anna Tamizh puriyalaya? i'm asking the reason for Khonadog wats the meaning behind this word?
I am Kannadiga. I totally agree with Rajnikanth. Some useless persons who want to create problems for their political gains and hurting innocent people. He was 100% percent right in saying that those people should be kicked. I am 100% sure that he didn't insult the whole Karnataka people. A issue which can be solved sensibly, the politicians of both the state are not taking the initiative. They are using it for their political gains. Who is to blame for the problems? Is it the actor or the politicians?

When our freedom fighters fought for freedom, the British rulers used divide and rule policy to break the unity of Indians. But that sowed the seeds of partition which happened years later. The same thing is happening. If it is not stopped now, history will repeat and our beloved country will be broken into many pieces.
Hogenakkal falls lies in the two state borders and it is accesible by road from Dharmapuri in TN which is nearly 170 km from Bangalore. The other end of the falls is KN border [Kollegal]which does not have good access and no public transport exists. Everyone enters from TN side by bus/car to see the tourist. There is a 700 acres land in the falls which KN is claiming now its land. All tourists are entering from TN side which KN is not able to stomach. They should have made good road & infrastructure from their side if they are really serious about this instead of simply opposing a drinking water project. When it was agreed in 1998 both the states were aware of this then why KN wants to reopen the closed case ? If the border disputes are reopened it is endless As per the international border regualtions both the states own land here. But KN is not going to use this land for anything as it did not bother to develop roads etc there and they just want to oppose the project since it will benefit TN with narrow mind. They are not going to do anything there and TN will use 1.4 tmc of water from its share. Karnataka simply wants to stall this project by giving some lame reasons.

Jagadish, K'taka is exactly doing what TN did for all of its projects. It aborted many of the projects that were being taken legally .. If TN continues poking its nose on everything .. then one day we Tamilians just have to stay without water in Bangalore. As Indians we should give due respect to neighbouring states ... and not with catfights ..

Funny Dhanyasi.. "then one day we Tamilians just have to stay without water in Bangalore". We understand that exactly is your worry. This should be put in dictionary as an example for "selfishness". Then "As Indians we should give due respect to neighbouring states ". Kannadigas are raising their voice for their farmers and Tamilians are for theirs.. But look at you.. This exactly is the problem, my friend. Religion/Patriotism and all other inter caste/state/country problems have this "selfishness" as the only base problem. Govt of India will do everything to ppl in B'lore and Chennai before they run out of water. So don't worry.. Let's worry about the farmers(Kannadigas and Tamilians) living in the borders. TN aborted all Karnataka legal projects. Then why aren't kannadigas fighting them legally? Tamilians don't rule India.. Indians rule it. Can you also please enlighten us with those projects ? Hope they are not just blunt statements you read in local newspapers and some really good legal project names. B'lore is in India and every Indian wants B'lore to flourish. So, you are "safe" with water. Take care...
Yesterday KRV people ransacked Taj west end hotel in Bangalore after launch of taxi services by an Mumbai agency from the new airport. The issue was local taxi drivers were not given contract and outsiders were given. What the hotel has to do ? Such actions will defame Bangalore and soon no industry will like to venture in Karnataka for business. It seems the KRV is taking advantage of the Governor rule and the people of karnataka are responsible for this state of affairs.

Mind your own business and look at chennai. Dont waste your time on Karnataka . Will you allow a mumbai agency to operate taxi services in Chennai??? Bullshit mind your own business

I agree with your point but the statement that mind your own business when the other person has just narrated an incident in Blore is absurd. Go and get a life!!!!

Bhushan, So you're looking for something against TN. Let me tell you some more.. "Uncontrolled Politics", "Language Fanaticism", "corruption" etc., Tell me now.. don't you also have this in any other state in India? I agree TN promotes it's language and culture a bit more than other states. Although I don't agree with those illegal ways, I agree that it would and should promote its culture and language.. Why not?? Tamil is "beautiful" for us. We love it in all forms as we know it and learnt it from basics. I am sure Kannada is the same for Kannadiga's. Whats wrong in it? In these days of English and Hindi domination, our Tamil folks are just frightened that we'll lose Tamil as other states do. so they are trying to control other languages rather than promoting Tamil. BTW, did you check Wiki, they can find an origination date for Hindi.. But not for "Tamil"/"Telugu"/"Kannada". We are old, man.. Old and Classic.. I am very thrilled about TN state govt's move about Tamil movie names. We wouldn't heard and seen some brilliant movie names without that.. when a tamilian can settle in Mumbai, why not a mumbai taxi agency.. we have a lot of Gujjus and other north Indian folks in chennai.. We have Jain colleges in Chennai.. I had lot of college colleagues from AP and Karnataka and other parts of India. We don't drive ppl out of our state. And, we are not "racial". B'lore is not "your" city and "Chennai" is not mine... We just live there..Hey Bhushan, bullshit somewhere..
