"I hope the people of India realize that they have to vote for someone who will represent the country. It's high time we started acting in a mature manner instead of being emotional fools."
Are Indians really fools to select Prashant? Amit is so much better singer. All people who know music have said that.
Yuvraj gets one crore for doing a miracle, hitting six sixes in an over. and the same one crore going to Prashant seems like a gross injustice. In all ways Amit deserved better than this.
This is the difference between an educated mature society like America and immature and highly uneducated society like India. In American Idol even if Blake was more popular People saw that Jordin sang better and she won.
In India forget about a Woman even reaching the final three in Idol, Saregamapa, morons vote for their own state rather than the real talent.

It is truely unbelievable my family is under state of shock and still sometimes just out of blue say %u201CHow can Prshant win?%u201D and we are fairly musical family have been singing and giving programs for many years now. I have never heard anyone sing Nasha ye Pyaar ka Nashaa hai and many other songs as good as Amit he did even better than udit Narayan. He just sounds so good. Those singers in SAREGAMAPA got singing contracts I hope Amit gets some he is better than most of Saregamapa singers.
Even John Abraham looked shocked, when he opened the box.
Prahant should have gone even before Deepali, Pooja, Ankita and Emon. even Abhishek (Ek Chatur naar) Emon too got a very raw deal from Javed Akhtar very bad of Javed Akhtar to say such nasty things to him. When Chang said that he and Prashant could go he was right.
It should have been between Emon and Amit or Deepali and Amit and any winner would have been a fair winner. But this guy Prashant though a good guy seemed to be a hidden manipulator. Prahsant an INDIAN IDOL Come ON!!
Why are the Indians so regionalized? We take pride in our music but we are so cheap and shallow that when it comes to supporting a real talent we support the person only from our state. Not Chak de but Sharm de India !!

Regionalisim is everywhere in india.from cricket to ploitics ,from ploitics to any form of administration.when a south indian made as a captian of cricket team he is not given cooperation but all is fine when somebody from north zone is made.In the previous in the indian idol, karuniya was declined on the basis of regionalisim ,even in soaps ,tv shows,competitions etc people are judged by their states they represent.and we talk about the racial discrimination in uk towards shlipa shetty in a tv show and make such huge fuss out of it .without looking back at our own backs in india. we indians are double standarded people and deny to accept our mistakes and faults and try to project ourselves as heros at international dias.today a person is declined ,rejected in every feild due to his religion, caste and location but nobody bothers to care about it. so same must have happend in the case of prashant also ,who knows.

If you are from so called musical family why dont you participate in the event like this.You dont know how to respect the elders. You are speaking against Javed Aktar. u can find scores of guys who can sing as good as if not better than amit if you go to clubs/hotels in any big indian cities. the kinds who can do pretty wonderful covers but have no originality. and if u talk about showmanship i give him fraction of points prashat will get. he always looked nervous and unsure abt himself, even after all the favor frm the guy called Javed and a Paula Abdul wanna be cougar named Alisa (sorry cheng). any person with a little bit of self respect will be ashamed to see that indian Idol choose such people to be judges. in honesty amit was a good guy. but he lacked confidence and star power. to make the things worse the judges biasness killed any chances amit had. may be they forgot they r in the 21st century india where there is discrimination against race, religion, cast or region.

I think your first post was correct Mr. no name!!
There will always be good singers somewhere on the earth but we are talking about the ones in Indian Idol.
There is (still) so much discrimination based on Race, Religion, Gender and especially STATE that they bury the real talent
I agree about Javed A. and Alisa C. but Anu Malik though brash was true he said several times that Amit you are the Indian Idol. And he said that from true feelings. He was overwhelmed when Amit sang Nasha Ye Pyaar Ka Nasha hai.
I am neither from Shilong nor from Meghalaya but this is a lesson for for all to never support any thing based on groupism and harm the real talent.
In Saregamapa too Musarrat sang better then Raja but he had to go Raja has been consistently singing badly recently but he is still in. In American Idol some people tried to sabotage by voting for Sanjaya but eventually the real democracy prevailed while in India still it is not real democracy.

the person who wrote this message should be shame. yes, i sccept that there was much better singers that prashant is. though prashant is the best. he has a brillant voice with a great singing.others were better but i coesnt mean that he is not good, his singing touches everyone's heart. if it is the thing then there is also a question of mona singh. if she is respected as a winner then prashant should be too.no matter what ever anyone says but i love prashant.... i think you sont like him cause he is from nepali origin.even he is from nepali origin he is an indian and just an indian army

Dear you are 101% right selecting prashant is wrong. All those people say that they can sing better then Amit are actually jealous. Regarding nervousness or anxiety is concerned it is natural thing and prashant a trained commando knows how to hide his expressions. Amit is original as far as voice and feelings are concerned. the night when result were declared prashant tamang was singing song of daler mehndi was pronouncing Ash as Ass and cash as cass . Prashant was the only contetant who never improved himself as far his pitch and pronounciation was concerned. So at last I just want to say that he won because he got support of crore pati MPs and Cops. Prashant is good person but as a singer he stands no where in front of Amit. Exactly. Even Prashant knows that Amit is a better singer. But this is not just about singing - else you would all end up watching the boring lookkas on sa re ga ma. Idol is all about showmanship and presentation. Both were equally good. Many congrats to Prashant.

i agree to u rosy khan, its not fair, amit deserved it.he got all the praise from judges on the other hand prashant always got negetive comments.sony declined to give the margin of votes also put some doubt whether prashat got highest vote or some vested interested people played roll in it.ramesh agarwalla
i think it is too little too late to comment about the VOTING of Indian Idol - as a winner has been choosen.
both of them were good but Prashant had a hard core fan following - so give the MAN a break. Amit is great too as I am sure he will bag some playback singing after all the JUDGES will reccomend him - its not the end of the world for Amit BUT stop bitching about the VOTING as if you had cared about it then the outsome would have been different.
So be HAPPY with the JANTA's voting and give PRASHANT a chance to prove himself - all the best !!!

Yea ....you can be the dreaded idol of the world..so just keep your mouth shut..cause Prashant derserved to be the indian idol from the very start of the competition.
mainstream indians always have problem if people from different groups achieve success by beating one of them but look at the history guys after Kautilya mainstream indians never stood against opposing forces rather they surrender.Common look at Nepalese history They never let that happen.Rather than appreciating you guys try to make fun.Hail to the winner.Prashant ki Jai.
