The topic is about Rajni's acting talents and I guess we must restrict ourselves to this. But, there are people here in this forum who take the slightest possible excuse to abuse people from other communities / regions. Be it south Indians or north Indians. I guess it's become some sort of fashion to bash other communities in rediff forums. It shows the degraded mentality that people have in today's technological world, where people don't restrict themselves to the south or the north, but are ready to roam the globe. If people have such narrow and filthy attitudes and mentality, am wondering, what they'll be projecting about India to the world arena. they'll still be guffawing about south / north Indians to the foreigners. Nothing can be more humiliating to this nation than this!!! Despite the fact that today there are more south Indians living in the north and vice versa. I thought people will be looking at being a global Indian, but at the end of the day, everyone wants to be a villager at heart abusing anyone away from their villages. And i guess this is the cue for scores of hypocrites going around this forum to start another fight, some will even abuse me or mock me.... Fie on all!!!

how deep sensible??? this is not the first time that am commenting here about this regional divide. every other column on rajni has more or less evoked the same kind of hatred amidst our people and same vehemence. does it really foster any good for the people. I for one don't see much of a difference in this great nation. I've literally in my short span of life travelled the length and breadth of India and can say with pride that i don't find much of a difference in this nation. True, I have so many friends from all communities as well. But, that hasn't stopped me from observing that the discussion forums are more vulgar and less teasing of one another. If we can't tolerate one another even on webspace, how are we to live together as a nation?

I completely agree with evrything you said meenakshi anand. I wonder if these people who claim that they are teasing one another for fun by using abusive language would have the same attitude when somebody calls them a moron. I do not understand why they think it is necessary to insult other people to get their message across. I can only assume that such people do not have anything constructive to say...and say things just because they want to have the last say and stop other people from giving their valauable opinions. I think the best thing for people like you and me to do is to move to more constructive forums/blogs. Let us be the better people that we are.

i know. infact, after seeing that response only i wrote here. i had been forbidding myself to write in rediff as it's getting too vulgar. and Rediff is just enjoying it because for them, it's only the number of clicks that matters. no journalistic morals, ethics, code of conduct etc... come to think of it, no news modicum, be it print / television / electronic exercises it these days. they live with sensationalism. and believe me most of these messages / discussions are followed by rediff employees, but they do not want to be responsible for it. they'll just wash their hands off saying, we are not writing it, it's the public opinion. public opinion be damned! they are just fostering these hatred for their own ends. and these very people were fighting against bringing in FDI in the entertainment industry / journalism industry stating that foreigners will not understand India and it's diversity. Do these people understand us. If they think they have every right to abuse us, or give us a chance to abuse one another, I guess the world media would atleast be much better in terms of content and quality. We don't atleast have to read all their meaningless articles with totally misleading headlines!!!

Guys ! At the end of the day...We are all there to appreciate if someone does good. I appreciate Meenakshi's genuine concerns. But these issues are deep rooted... unfortunately,Our mouth is ready to spill out our regional identity before the national one comes out. We gets this imbibed in to our subconscious mind as well. So, the so-called 'Indian-ism' is not a heart-felt word..rather..just another 'babbled-word' that comes out of our mouth. Of course this is not the right scenario. But the solution should come from 'SELF' rather than looking for people to point out and rectifying it....because...this is not a Arithmetic problem where you follow the steps to find the answer. This has more to do with our 'self-analysis'. There are numerous issues that we need to be bothered about in our day-to-day life. Lets not treat this 'National-Issue' as just another one...Give importance !

Well said Meenakshi... this is not the first article..i have seen many articles where ppl will start talking like this...and some times they will go out of the real topic...this north south divide is growing wide becoz of these forums...and the sad part is all these ppl r educated ppl..
is his debut into films in Kannada language - Katha Sangama. His character is powerful and the talented director Puttanna Kanagal got the best of Shivaji Rao (his former name). When I look at this move after thirty years.. I still think it is one of Rajanikant's best negative role. Partly because it was the language he grew up -- Kannada.
people have the right to their own taste of movies and if someone doesn't like a movie or an actor it is his choice and opinion. One cannot impose his likes and dislikes on others. I personally am a Rajini fan and hate Shah rukh khan movies..that doesnt mean I hurl abuses about his movies or his personality. And guys who insult tamil's and Rajini...do more research on the good things he does in real life. Dont hudge someone by their looks and reel life. So please refrain from throwing irresponsible abuses at others. I should say that the Rediff moderators are not doing a good job. By the day you see the use of more and more of such abusive language and yet the moderators are silent. I think I will stop visiting Rediff from now on.

u know you are very filthy by the very fact that you are using a south indian name to abuse south indians as you don't have the guts to use your real name. don't you? u r the biggest moron and a greater sadist & hypocrite of all...
Rajini done masaala movies BigB also done masaala movies Kamal also done masaala movies Mohanlal also done masaala movies Mammooty also done masaala movies
All of them also done classics where Mohanlal, Kamal and Mammoty done more classics than Rajini and Amitab. Rajini and BigB are nothing before Kamal, Mammoty and Mohanlal's classics. But Rajini is ahead in terms of Blockbusters. Also he is the highest paid actor in India. By seeing this Rajini is not a great actor in India but by means of Bockbusters he is an INDIAN SUPERSTAR.
Rediff moderator is from south and he is revoking the rights to post the msgas, not once did i write anything offensive but all these idli sambhars r same, chuck this dumb moderator out
Whoever is talking rubbish about south indian cinema or north indian cinema , they both are anti-nationals and trying to spoil the country. At the end of the day, it's indian cinema and watched across globe as an indian movie. We have great talent all across the states, be it Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Bhojpuri whatever.. Learn to respect each other's culture and live peacefully.
