I don't know how can someone miss MARD starring Amitabh, Amrita Singh and Dara Singh. In this movie Dara Singh is shown as stopping a plane by a rope which he threw and which was caught in the tail of the plane. This is one of the gem of the scenes in Bollywood.
Won't name the actor, but in one of his movies shes would emit sparks while walking LOL also he raises his leg, off comes the shoe, hits the villian and comes back to the foot!!!!!!!!! LOL
Filsm are created from hard work & sweat of director, producer, story writer, various technicians & actors. Please don't call this hard work as absurd.

Pushing a wall with an intention to move it with your bare hands is hard work. but does that make it intelligent or effective?
The wierdest movie that I saw ever was Mard in which the heroine was more like a Mard so there was a total confusion regarding who's the actress of the movie then height of absurdity happened was when A muli-millionaire's daughter fell in love with a "Tange wala" I guess such things happen in Hindi movies only.

Mr. George u have shown that u r an illiterate person who know how to read and write but dont know anything about the films whether it is a hollywood or bollywood or any other as well as u dont have any respect for other people from any other region. For ur kind information many hit movies in hindi are a remake of bengali flims..example- Amar Prem, Chupke chupke, Kora Kagaz...and the list goes on... U r a shit. Further this message borad is for the most absurd scene and not a language or culture.

Well check ur head straight Mr. George, here talk for Absurd scenes in Hindi movies are going on where does Bengali or Punjabi comes in picture. Agreed these days Bengali commercial movies are crap but for ur very kind its Bengali Art & Realistic movies have always made mark in international market. I guess u have never hear of movie-makers like Satyajit Ray or Aparna Sen who made movies like Pather Panchali, 36 Chowrungi Lane, Mr. and Mrs. Iyer and son on. Then currently a movie called Namesake is based on the works of a Bengali writer, and Satyajit Ray was the first person to get Oscer for his lifetime contribution in film making and even Bengali commercial cinema has seen its Golden days with many old Hindi movies like Amar Prem, Anand, Kora Kakaz being copied from them. Then Hrishikesh Mukherjee the master behind these timeless classics like GolMal and Namak Haram, Chupke Chupke is also a Bengali. So Mr. George Bengali movies are more than 'Osho Bosho', and please don't criticise a language like that, here in this article there is a talk about Absurd movie scene in Hindi movies are going on, its no where criticising any language or culture.

For your information till PIO movies came along, the only name from India to be heard in international movie circles was Satyajit Ray!
I am bound to say that u r an ignorant. Please dont say that Malayalam movies are best. No doubt Hollywood movies are best but Malayalam movies are just ok.

Dear Friends, While readers commenting on a publication is a very acceptable thing, calling Agneepath absurd is taking it to a different level, a sacrilege for the Genre of movies that we produce. Yes for the disbeleivers we have a Genre of movies we are known for the world around. This Genre of movies is not very different from a Bond movie or a Good Bad Ugly. We make a Black, a Devdas, a RDB, a Dhoom 2 and an Agneepath (our own take on God Father) and have the biggest viewership of movies. We are a unique country where cinema is given such a status that Rajni is worshipped in a theater. Let us realize that our movie stlye is different and not use Hollywood as a yardstick of what is absurd and what is not. With passage of time all movies look absurd. Did someone say 'Ten Commandments' looks absurd when seen today. May be it does, but then cinema is not about technology and reality all the time is it. Wouldnt we all be seeing Discovery channel in theaters instead.
And rediff, Agneepath absurd.. Please.. that can be avoided

Iam sure there are an number of absurd hollywood film scenes we never get to see!So why single out indian movies?James bond films for all their popularity are downright dumb.

We accept it all right. We accept that it is an assault on our senses and logic. We accept that it mirrors nothing about the society we live in or ask any profound questions about our country. The point is, Good Bad and Ugly, Ten Commandments etc are movies made in the 50-60s. Our cinema is stuck in that era. Naseruddin Shah is absolutely right. Our movies are ridiculous. There's nothing to be proud of a literal family business where each person sucks up to the other family and creativity is non-existant.
Look at European cinema, Brazilian cinema, even hollywood (not superman/spiderman variety but like Godfather, shawshank redemption etc). Memento is a brilliant film with a very, very simple plot line that could be summed up in a para shorter that what I've typed here. And yet it is such a riveting film. Reason? Chris Nolan is a talented director. Cant say the same about the likes of Karan Johar and Yash Chopra.

Well, those who dont that Rajni is not worshipped, please visit Chennai and say anything bad abt him. If u remain alive, we'll discuss it. I have been there and seen that. Thankfully I am back to delhi now.
